Also check Delta.com: Sometimes better offers might be available there.

The Amex referral page has a 60K offer for the Delta Personal card.

There are several 60, 000 miles offers for the personal card with the first year annual fee waived the first year, valid through May 1, 2019. They are listed in this referral thread. These are way better than the current standard public offer of 30,000 miles shown on Delta's website

Gold Personal:

A post on Reddit suggests that you can find a 50K offer, but with a $100 credit, by doing a dummy booking on Delta.com.
The offer should appear before you have to pay for the flight. [Did [b]not work when I booked a flt today, 3/15/17.]

Note: Review the recent discussion in the thread about various other ways to try to locate offers as high as 50k+$50 credit.

Getting the statement credit:
MrMoonlight successfully purchased a Delta ecert (essentially a gift card) and received the statement credit. See this post..
Jacobsta811 also received $50 credit for $50 e-cert on both gold business and gold personal cards.
muji received $100 credit for $50 eCert on Delta Platinum card
sdsearch received $100 credit for $50 eCert on business Platinum card (see this post).
vah4883 received $100 credit for $5.6 tax on Platinum card
philemer received $100 credit for buying a box lunch on board

Am I still eligible for the Delta Amex Platinum personal card and associated redemption?

TIA
If the co. applied for the card, and not you, you should be fine applying for the personal card. I'd do it.

These are entirely different products. Holding one does not preclude earning a bonus for the other.

So the DL Amex Gold has a pretty good offer right now. I have had an DL Amex Card since 2009. Jul 2009 opened the Gold Amex. Changed to options card in Jul 2010, been regular Options card since then.

Is there any way to upgrade the card to Gold in order to get the current offer (70K for 3K spend, $50 statement credit for first year)? Or do I have to close my account down and then open a new one?

No, the offer is for new accounts, not for upgrades.

Closing the Options card account is irrelevant. However, the fact that you previously held a Skymiles Gold card means that you are not eligible for a bonus on the same card. In practice, American Express only look back about 7 years. If you had closed the Gold account in 2010 you might be eligible again soon, but because you downgraded this may mean that the system will still see that you previously held a Gold card. I would ask customer service if you have "ever" had a Skymiles Gold card to test.

Too bad there is no way to create a Virtual Number with limit or I could offer up a free drink to someone here

No flights coming up for me in the next couple of months so may just purchase a $50 e-gift card.

If you have a good friend or relative that you REALLY trust, that is taking a DL flight soon, you could give them your card and they could buy a drink or snack onboard. (tongue firmly in cheek)

OK thanks. Never closed the card because I wanted to keep the credit history for my credit score.

Called Amex to see what I am eligible for:

Upgrade to plat only, full annual fee (not statement credit) and 25K bonus for $2000 spend. Going to pass. Agent did ask me what I wanted and said she would make a note in my account for the marketing department to review. Let's see if they are interested in what I am interested in.

I just got the DL Business platinum and was planning on buying a $50 DL gift card to get the $100 statement but I remembered that I have a delta flight coming up.

Can I just buy a beer on the flight and get the $100 credit ?

Only if you are in regular economy. When I was trying to get the credit, all my flights kept upgrading to preferred or First and the FAs wouldn't sell me anything since the beers were free in my section. They don't seem to understand the need to make a credit card purchase.

I can get 12.5K one way nonstop MSP/BDL so I'm in the main cabin. Since I book the day they go on sale I am 2 rows behind Delta comfort an it's only a 2 hour flight.

Delta Skymiles credit card - now or after July 5th?

I've changed home airports and am now primarily flying Delta, and plan to get their Gold credit card. All of the current Delta Skymiles credit card bonus offers I'm seeing expire on July 5th. I would expect there are new offers coming after that date. Does anyone have information about that? I'm trying to decide if it's better to grab one now, or wait.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to FT. I've moved you post into our AMEX cards forum.
This is the highest offer I've seen. I'd grab it now.

I personally find the Platinum DL AMEX worth it more than the Gold unless you're planning on opening the Gold and closing it before the annual fee hits.

The Platinum has a higher sign up bonus and the $195 gets you a free round trip companion ticket (along with the free checked bags that comes with the Gold card)
