AA's system will not sell gift cards to anyone with New Jersey info in their AMEX profile (and possibly AA profile). Your purchase will usually appear to go through, but when you try to activate the card a few days later it will be invalid.
You need to either choose another airline for this reimbursement, or cleanse your AMEX profile of NJ addresses and phone numbers, and possibly your AA profile as well.

Not for me unfortunately. Still waiting on a $100.00 GC that posted 12/8 on my gold card. Does anyone know if there's a delay after you select an airline? It's a brand new card and I bought the GC right after I selected AA as an airline.

I have a gold card too. I bought two $50 GCs and they were credited. I read somewhere that buying a $100 GC with a gold card doesnt get credited.
