Made 2x $100 gift card purchases on 12/1. Still nothing.
Today I called AMEX and complained. I explained that AA never coded these purchases as gift cards and AMEX has always reimbursed me for them. Not sure what their problem is. They also said they would submit my comments to their fraud departments as gift cards from airlines are specifically not allowed

Please wait
It has been commonly reported that many statement credits are taking at least 10 days or so to post. Please refrain from nervously expressing your worries (and needlessly cluttering this thread) until that amount of time has passed. And to those who call others "stupid", try expressing something productive instead of your irrelevant judgment. Nobody is interested in your opinion of others, we're here to concisely provide and/or seek USEFUL information which benefits all.

The 10 day delay was true here as well. Phrased $100 GC with PRG on 12/8 and the reimbursement came on 12/18.

In Jan.2015, the last time I purchase AA gift cards with my AMEX PLAT, for each of the 4 $50 cards, my credit appeared 2 days later...is their crediting department having a "slowdown" issue?
There have been few (any(?)) exceptions reported with GC purchases being credited--if too many pax complain (too early), AMEX could adhere to their "official" policy and stop issuing credits.

Data points:
First round: Took 11 days from purchase to credit for me.
Second round: waiting (will update)
Statement closing date doesn't seem to play any role.

I enrolled and elected to have AA as my airline earlier in 2015 but almost all of air travel has shifted to DL. Outside of a Gift Card that I might use at a later time do you have any suggestions on what I can apply this benefit towards?
