I was flying ORD-MSP on MD-80 with confirmed upgrade to F. I got in early and went on standby for an egale flight. Pleasantly surprised to get an F seat and tried the seat. It is really nice.

I thought the fruit cup was a bit odd too- served on my morning flight from CLE-DFW. The coffee was good (served in a real mug, not those old plastic ones I remember from the M80's), but apparently the didn't load the oatmeal, so cereal was the only option.

The seat was very comfortable for the 2hr40m jaunt to Dallas. Sat in 1A and although it lacks an overhead or under-seat storage, the window lined up perfectly and there was plenty of leg room. This, combined with a great crew on the way to DFW, made for a really positive experience.

IAH-ORD on CR7 in 1st

Took the IAH-ORD 11:15a flight in seat 3D on the updated CR7.

Seats were comfortable, decent leg room and recline for this size plane.

One gripe was it was 2hr1min flight that was lunch time?...but no meal available.
FA was apologetic and wasnt sure why since the flight in to IAH had breakfast. The FA gave us whatever snacks he had but I was surprised there wasnt a meal. Then on my flt from ORD-BOS it was 1hr42min flt at 3:30 and it served dinner. This didnt make any sense to me.

Overall the flight was quiet and comfortable, worth the upgrade despite no food. I was in 3D, but didnt mind the window not aligned since I close them anyway.

It seems the AE F flights have different meal windows? Looks like this is a "refreshments" flight.

I see from this thread that 1A is highly recommended. I have a computer bag that I carry on which will not fit in the overhead on Eagle planes, and 1A has no underseat storage. Is there anyplace where I can stow this bag or should I avoid 1A?

You may have to avoid 1A then, unless you want to gate check your bag. (I just got off of F in a CR7 a few minutes ago.)

1A has no underseat; the overhead storage on the CD side is comparable to coach CR7 or RJ storage. There's a very, very small storage compartment above the A side, but the opening is literally 5-6 inches high and 6-8 inches deep.

BDL Update

The 8:00 pm departure from ORD to BDL has been moved to 8:40 - and has been swapped out to an ER4. Didn't take long to lose the FC option [and my business] on that route!

Going to BDL to visit family over Labor Day weekend.

I routed thru DFW, but I am indeed booked on AA3821 BDL-ORD on 9/7 and am still showing the CRJ. However, it looks like you're correct, after the 11/18 schedule changes, this route returns to all ER4s
Sure didn't take long!

Lovely of them to (not even try) to compete with UA's A319s.

Glad I only have to do this route once.
