I have an award (with auth number) I redeemed before my points expired (12/31/2015). If I use it to book flights now (for June) but then decide to cancel, will my award be reinstated (for the $150) with the original expire date (12/28/2016) or does this work only for points (ie the points would be reinstated with their originally expire date 12/31/2015, but since that day has passed, they won't)?
Or is it possible to change the date of the outbound/inbound flight(s) (same route) on a res made with the award?
Thank you

I booked a ticket with an expiring certificate (purchased with expiring points the year before). The flight now has an over 2 hour schedule change. Per AA rules, I believe I should be able to change to a different flight between the same airports, or get a refund. Obviously a refund of an expired certificate is not a very useful refund. Has anyone tried to ask them to use the certificate for a different destination? What do they usually do in this situation?

Amybd, you should probably write in to Business Extraa customer service to seek their written clarification of what they will allow. Seems like you should get a new year of in light of the involuntary change. I'd even support a change to different airports, basically waiving any change fee AA would apply for that. I would not be shocked if Business Extraa staff allow this without difficulty, but I also would not be surprised if they refuse. In that case you might complain to AA counsel or to DOT. One way or another, albeit potentially through regulatory duress, I am confident that AA will provide the benefit you seek.

1. No harm to call and ask
2. If the answer is no, HUCA

Zero Points On Posted Flights
This is a first for me. Tickets posted for January flights with correct fares but in the point column there is "0" for points.
I figured if it was a President's day delay then the flights would not have posted. I have sent a message to BE but curious if anyone else has seen this happen in the past.

Where are you all going to see the individual flights that posted? I just see "Base Customer Service" and then a point number, but can never determine which flights credited. I am missing all of November through February travel.

There's a tab right above the list that will show you flight activity.

Upgrade? + Flight Change/Connection Time
Hi,
I have a couple of questions. Last summer I booked 2 Business Extra Plan AAhead Tickets to Europe in Business Class for this summer (the US connections are in First).
Q #1: I have noticed when looking at my reservations online, on the International Portion on the AA website, there's a note saying to call about a possible upgrade and then gives a link to 500-mile upgrades. I am assuming this is not applicable to my type of ticket, but just wanted to check here to make sure there's not a way I can use miles to upgrade to First Class.
Q #2: I arrive back into the US at PHL and previously had 1:55 to make my connection to Charlotte (and then I have another flight that night out of Charlotte). I recently received a notification of a schedule change, where now I have 1 hour, 40 minutes to clear customs and make the connection in PHL. In December, we arrived at PHL after an international flight and it was an absolute nightmare! It took FOREVER and many people missed their connections. After that trip, I am concerned that 1 hour, 40 minutes will not be enough time. I do not see any First Class award seats available on the direct flight to BNA (skipping Charlotte), but in the case of a schedule change do I have any options? I would be willing to be downgraded to Economy for the US flight, but don't see any SAAver Awards available. Just wanted to check if there are exceptions to the rules for schedule changes.
THANKS!!!!

2. Get Global Entry. In the alternative, you can try calling AA's meeting services desk to see if they can re-accommodate you since the schedule has changed. If all else fails, AND you miss your connexion, then speak with AA CS at PHL. They will try to re-accommodate you to the best of their abilities.
Have a great trip.

Thanks so much for your advice! Just wanted to add that while customs and immigration lines were long in December (there were several late flights and we all got in at the same time . . . it was a few days before Christmas, too), it was actually the next security area where we were transferring to our next flight that took so long. I will spare all of the details, but I am still convinced an employee was steering international passengers into the incorrect line. It was unreal, to say the least, and there was mass chaos (employees were even fighting as to where the international passengers should be going . . . I couldn't believe what I witnessed). It took more than 2 and a half hours from getting off the plane until we were sitting in the lounge to await our next flight! That experience has caused me to be very concerned about only having 1:40 the next time around!
Again, thanks so much!
