I had mixed responses from the Meeting Services Dept on this. One time, I was told no, but other times I was able to successfully add the BE number. Go figure. I looked at a recent TYP reservation and see i was ticketed as 001 and AA accepted the BE number, too soon to tell whether the points will actually post.

1) Go to www.britishairways.com
2) Select 'Manage My Booking' tab
3) Follow the instructions to pull up your reservation
4) Select the link towards bottom listed under 'Quick Links' 'Add On Business or Business Extra number'
5) Add your Business Extra number and check the box to give your consent.

It's under the very busy "Quick Links" at the bottom so very easy to miss! Good luck!

I added this to the Wiki

Pleasantly surprised to get the perfect answer here! I just assumed BA made it incredibly difficult to do. Got it added thanks to these instructions. Thanks!

Thanks for the datapoints. I've got a TYP-booked itinerary coming up and I assumed that it wouldn't earn points. Just called (1-800-433-1790) and successfully added the number to the itinerary!

Quick question as I try to wrap my head around business extra. Can I have 2 different business extra numbers for each of the two travellers on one reservation? I joined business extra to take advantage of the 1600 point TATL promo, so I am trying to figure out how to best work it. Can I earn 1600 points for each traveller, such that I only need 1 business extra number in the booking?

Thank you!

The way it works is: e.g., an employer has their employees use the company BX number so the designated manager can dole out (or use) the Business Extra points.

If you have your BX number in others' bookings, you'll earn the BX points. Using two BX numbers in bookings fof two kind of defeats the purpose; I'm not even thinking two BX numbers for one booking is allowed.

And as with your FFN, you should only have one BX account number.

Adding the Business Extra number does not mean it will earn points. That comes back only when they process at the end of the day. They will look to see it qualifies (proper ticket number, no discounts, etc).

Did they change how you find out when your points expire? (I can't seem to find the list of when my various points expire anymore.)

This seems like an incredibly-simple question, but I can't find conclusive answer in the T&C: For the Flight redemptions (i.e. AA Within North America PlanAhead Coach: 2,000 points), is this one-way or round-trip?

Round trip. There's no discount for flying only one-way.

BE gold status

Does anyone know if using a BXP5 to give/get gold status counts as a "exception" like doing a challenge or extending status by paying? I assume not for the giver but for the recipient, if it counts at all.

Thanks.

As it's a documented benefit, it shouldn't count as an exception, favor or waiver.
