Are Upgrades 600 points,l or as it says either 650 or 1,200?

Received email that Upgrade promo is 600 pointsd--it does not say that it is domestic or international---, but on BusEXTRAA, it says 650 for domestic and 1,200 for certain internationals???

I have 3700 biz extra points and 2100 are expiring Dec 2012 --

what's the best redemption for this? Thinking Admirals Club membership -- do I have enough for a month or a year? Or can I simply buy 8 day passes at 300 miles each?

--

also my wife has 675 points expiring -- should 2 admirals day passes be best spend?

lastly, are the admirals passes electronic in your account or mailed to you in your name? are they transferable between spouses?

Thanks in advance!

The one-time AC passes are printed on card-stock, and about the size of a credit card. They'll be mailed to you, although you can request them to be FedEx'd if you have an account.

The passes do not have a name on them so you will not have a problem transferring them between spouses, etc.

Seriously, dude, have you even looked at the awards available and the points they cost?

BXP6 Special Services Award - 20 Inflight Drink Coupons

Does any one know if this is a relic or an augur? Seems like a nice alternative redemption.

I have and they are confusing, dude.

Thought I could get someone such as yourself, whom I would describe as an expert, to give me some advice. The time it took you to reply could have been used to offer some advice which, if you wouldn't mind, I'd still like to have for my expiring points.

My organization uses the 650 point BXP1 single segment upgrade certs often. These certs are very useful for the SFO-MIA or SFO-JFK transcons that we often fly, as they can often be confirmed in advance, unlike sticker or EXP free upgrades.
If you use expiring points for certs now, they will be valid until 12/31/2013.

Your best corresponding monetary value is going to be redemption for upgrade certificates. Note that they have some fare restrictions, but they are now redeemable at the time of booking (used to be 30 days prior to travel), so that's made them MUCH more valuable.

I just redeemed 8 BXP upgrades for two on JFK-LAX-HNL. The cash cost alone for AAdvantage Award upgrades would have been $700, not to mention the 60,000 miles. I had to book a fare class that cost $20 more to be eligible.

Details for how each BE award redemption is handled are covered in the T&C linked from each award here: https://www.businessextraa.com/ShowAwards.do

Also if the OP waits til Dec to redeem, they may even be valid until 6/30/2014.

The pass is about the same size as a business card. It includes a blank place to write the recipient's name. I ordered one a few weeks ago. It expires in December 2013.

I also recently purchased a daypass (about a week ago) at an AC at DFW. The purchased daypass expires December 2012.

I have about 6900 points in my account with 2600 expiring at the end of the year. I want to use my points to get a 7200 point award and I do have tickets worth the missing 300 points. However, because they were booked on the phone, I forgot to provide the BE number before ticketing and travel will be complete only in December, so going through the slow claim process may be too tight of a schedule. I have just written to the BE service center to try to take care of the situation.

Has anybody been in a similar situation? Is there anything I can do to make it easier?

Thanks for any hints.

earn points for codeshare?

I've booked a SAN-SEA flight on AA, but it turns out to be AS operated. Will I still get the ExtraAA points, or not?

Sorry, you will not.

As a Business ExtrAA member, your company earns Business ExtrAA points each time you fly on American Airlines, American Eagle® or AmericanConnection® carriers on eligible fares.

All you do is call the BE customer service and they will add your BE number to your PNR(s) assuming you havent flown yet. Before I added my BE to my profile, I always forgot. Regular AA res agents cannot add BE numbers to PNRs. Keep in mind BE customer service is just 8-5 M-F. But you will not have points post from December flights until mid-January.

I agree. The DEC flights aren't going to post until after December.
One suggestion is to ask if it is possible to have award points extended.
A couple of years ago, I had to cancel a booking I had made just prior to the point expiration date. I was able to get the points back by paying $150
