Well, let's go to the T&C's shall we:
"Once award is redeemed on BusinessExtrAA.com, a confirmation email is sent to the Travel Manager containing an Electronic Authorization Number. The Electronic Authorization includes the Award Code along with an eight character alpha-numeric code. (IE. BX1A/0A1B2C3D) This number should be provided to American Airlines Reservations when you are ready to ticket your award reservation.
To make reservations for award travel: When calling from within United States or Canada, please contact American Airlines Meeting Services at 1-800-433-1790, 7 days a week, from 6:00AM to 12:00midnight, CT. If calling from outside the U.S. or Canada, please contact your local American Airlines Reservations Office. "

As they saying goes, "That's how the GET you"
The good news for me is I have a BE account that is being used by a few people I don't know. I contacted a couple of them who seemed to not know what was going on and not care.... So, when I redeem that nice 10K point bonus, I will pay the $25...............Ooops no I won't. An EXP agent said there was no fee when I tried before

Sometimes I get points from random travelers as well. Doesn't happen as often as I'd like though!

See this section from that link:
MORE POINTS = MORE REWARDS.
Business ExtrAA customers can now earn points on any codeshare flight (AA*) operated by British Airways, Iberia or Japan Airlines, giving you ...
(bolding about the codeshare flights is mine)
As well, no mention of CX leads me to believe no BE earning.

You may want to email customer service and nicely ask if they can post a few courtesy points for you.

Is there an equivalent of an original routing credit I can request, after one of my legs was cancelled and I was moved to another airline for that leg?
Edit: Just to clarify, the other legs posted fine.
Also, are Business ExtrAA award tickets one-way, or roundtrip?

Has anyone noticed that international tickets seem to earn considerably less points lately?
I reviewed some of my flights, and it seems like the points earning have been cut 50%. I know that sometime earlier AA started publishing / separating out fuel surcharge for their international fares, and the Business ExtrAA program terms explicitly said that points are not earned on surcharges.
If I am not mistaken, this is a fairly big earning cut for international travelers.
