SWU / Rewards for EXP and Beyond [more than 200K EQP/EQM]

Executive Platinum AAdvantage members with 150,000 and 200,000 EQ Miles will automatically receive two extra SWU / Systemwide Upgrades (two at 150,000 EQM and at 200,000 EQM thereafter, earned in the same calendar year).

If you think you are eligible and have not received them, call AAdvantage Customer Service:

Note that re/qualifying in 2016 and onward earns four (4) SWU; two SWU at 150k and 200k EQM. Passing 250,000 EQM generally earns no more SWU, but particularly high value flyers and CK might get additional SWU by requesting them. This is possible, not probable.

to add to that... the agent I spoke with more or less said that, confirming what you are saying.

Thanks for the report. I'd say that all signs point to a streamlined, less aggravating, more organized process this year than any previous on this.

Apologize if this has been posted before, but I waited until after January 1st to make my call based on my 2014 travel. The extra VIPs I received were valid until 28 Feb 2017, rather than 2016 as I had expected.

EXP and Beyond [more than 100K EQP/EQM - what next?]

Haven't flown AA since the end of June, got the call from the executive office yesterday asking "how things are going"... Took them long enough, lol. On AA today for the first time in a while and am starkly reminded as to why I'm at DL every week these days. Back on topic... The person I spoke w/ from the executive office offered 2 SWUs, 30k miles, or a gift of Gold status to anyone. I had 145k EQP in first half of the year. She also told me that if I did another 30k EQP this year (won't happen) that I would get another choice of SWUs, etc.

Due to last minute schedule changes and customer acceptance phase we're pulling off 30k EQP per month right now, thus both of us have been gifted another four SWU. Currently at 172k EPQ.

Nice. Is this your first year taking advantage of the overachieving EXP program, just out of curiosity?

Yes it is. We've switched from United to American corporate wise due to available routes and alliance networks. So it's also the first time being an EXP

Emailed AAdvantage CS about any benefits for flying more than 100K EQPs (I am at about 115K).

Received a call back (not email), where I was offered the second plan of additional SWUs over 150K EQPs.

Curious-- has anyone been offered the first option of additional SWUs starting at 125K EQPs?

I guess it has to do with our Helix score for which one we get.

Are they only offering the SWUs if you have used up all of your existing SWUs or will they give you more even if you still have some in your account?
I have 160k EQP, will I get 2 or 4? or depends on Helix?

Should reach 175k EQP in November, should I call now and then in November again or wait until then?

It seems pretty universal that if you call at 150k this year, you get 2. Call again at 175k, get 2 more and if you get to 200k, call again.

I called around 188k and got 4 and I was thanked and to please call back when I pass 200k next month for 2 more.

I don't recall anyone saying they were rejected at 150k or 175k this year.

Call whenever and they'll tell you what you're eligible for-- this year much easier than previous ones. If it's 2 only on your account or 2 for every 25K EQPs over, they'll tell ya.

Yes, it is Helix score dependent.

- Some overachieving EPs will be offered nothing additional,

- Some just a single pair of SWUs,

- Only a subset are eligible for 2 SWU per every 25k EQPs over w/ no limitation

The 125K vs. 150K as a starting point has been a source of constant confusion over the last few years, I've seen examples of both but, generally, 150K EQPs.

The link in my signature below has much background and factual historical info.

You do not need to wait until you have depleted your stash of SWUs, they will give you more even if you still have some (I've had as many as 14 at one time).

I don't think it matters if you call now and then call again or just call in November. If you need the SWUs now, call now, and if you don't, may as well call in November unless you're nervous and want to see them sitting there waiting to be used .

Just received an additional two SWU when hitting 200k EQP - without calling! They have just been added to my account. Same with procedure with one of my colleagues.
