Rumor: new elite level(s) and low-fare product details coming

https://twitter.com/winglets747/stat...40749300617216

Reports coming from @AmericanAir ALC: Segmentation is the word. More levels at the top of AAdvantage, and details on low fare price product.

Wonder if more at the top means something beyond 100K EQMs - that could be nice. Or are we thinking at 75k level, did LUS have a 75k level or was that CO?

CO's and now UA has a 75K level which is currently Premier Platinum.

I'd expect a SuperEXP level or something like that - akin to GS - which is driven more off of profitability rather than mileage flown.

Hope I'm wrong.

Maybe a new tier with the return of 8 SWUs and the ability to (officially) earn more SWUs based on spend / EQMs.

I'd expect the majority of EPs here will be displeased.

I do consider the rumor to be highly credible

Then what would happen to CK? Would it become exclusively celebrities and top executives as opposed to those who actually fly?

Would be pretty easy to make CK an official level like GS on UA.

If some minority could be pleased, there's hope yet!

So on that, I'd guess a 75k and 125k level a la Delta -- which means many EXPs will drop down to the 75k and lose top upgrade priority. And possibly also formalizing CK, a la GS, as mentioned. (The tweet said more levels at the top)

The other key thing that I presume would displease EXPs would be reduction of SWUs, and, well...

I guess, though, that for both, the 2-3x EQMs on AA premium fares softens the blow somewhat.

Last round I believe you said you thought we'd be pleased. Given how that turned out, this could be a disaster!

time will tell...
