2015 AA aa.com website / app down, glitch, bug, fix etc. (Consolidated)
• Saturday evenings, AA loads schedules and runs batch processes. This means some scheduled flights might go missing, or your account may show all zeroes, sometimes well into Sunday. It will all come back.
• aa.com troubles? Check by using aktchi's recommended way: http://isup.me- or [U]http://www.isitdown.us, http://www.doj.me[/U{
Or use this direct link - http://downorisitjustme.com/res.php?url=aa.com
• If it is just you, try: reload the page, empty your cache, delete one or more cookies, quit and restart the browser, shut down and reboot the computer.
• LRD shared: (maybe)... it's a bad cookie. I use the "Remove Cookie for Site" extension. This adds a menu item to your mouse right-click that clears the cookies for just the domain you are viewing. Works ...for example, clearing Citi cookies before submitting a second, same-day AA credit-card application.
• "Flight / Fare selected no longer available; please modify your request" common booking error
• For Web-related issues, including web-displayed fares issues, call American Airlines Web Services Phones

Plenty of mess lately trying to book US metal on aa.com. In many cases a US flight will show available until you click on it - and then suddenly the flight is "no longer available." Clicking on an alternate US metal flight brings up the generic error message. Over to usairways.com, and all flight options are completely bookable. Happening for multiple round trip searches like LAS-DEN, DEN-SAN, DEN-ANC, etc. A hot mess right now.

I'm unable to search using the search box on AA.com. Regardless of my search term, I receive the message:
Can anyone point me to current information about interline baggage agreements on aa.com?
Cheers,
LBBZman

I can't pull up the secure (https) website in a normal window (on my usual browser, Firefox) today. I get:
Does anyone know what cookies that don't belong to aa.com the secure (https://www.aa.com) AA landing page uses?
(No, I don't want to delete absolutely all my cookies.)
Thanks.
An error occurred during a connection to www.aa.com. Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s). (Error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap)
I can pull it up only in a Private window, which implies that some cookie is causing the problem. But I've deleted all aa.com cookies, and the problem still occurs, so presumably it's some cookie that's not aa.com?Does anyone know what cookies that don't belong to aa.com the secure (https://www.aa.com) AA landing page uses?

If you've allowed third-party cookies, you should take the plunge and delete all of your cookies anyway.

Oh, and it's not the cache either. I cleared my cache too, and the problem is still there!
I can't find any way to get https://www.aa.com to work in Firefox 38.0.1 except by using Private browsing.
Fortunately, I was able to find an Firefox add-on (extension) called Auto Private and that lets me go to the secure aa.com without having to manually open a private window (in fact, with Auto Private, I can do in a tab rather than a separate window). Auto Private automatically opens pages at specified domains in Private mode.
But it's crazy that I have to do such a workaround just to be able to log in to aa.com!

Very, very frequently. I *think* almost exclusively when the itinerary includes a US Airways Express segment.

Usually happens when I am doing multi-city for the routing I want (e.g., to LHR after a west coast trip via DFW rather than going back to JFK). Or when routing includes anything US. If I pick all AA I often get the same message. The way I beat it is to put specific times for the legs I want. Picking thru locations -vs- time cause problems sometimes. May cost a bit more to pick this way and it may take 5 or 6 tries but worth it to me.
Never have had these issues domestically, though.

Yes, I have this problem when trying to book an AA flight number operated by US on aa.com. I end up either buying a US flight number operated by US on the AA website or buying US flights on the US website but much prefer to have the 24 hour hold option when purchasing.

Yes, even with all AA-operated and AA-coded flights, even for a simple 4-segment r/t.

Sometimes these fares work on Orbitz (especially if specified as individual segments on Orbitz).

Try doing it through Google flights or Kayak. You still get the "perks" of booking through AA, because they link through.

Same day confirmed flight change.
AA.com showed upgrade "requested"
AA records showed "no upgrade ever request" and "you are not on the list"
Research shows AA dropped upgrade request when flight change made. IMPOSSIBLE to detect error without calling and grilling agent for upgrade status.
Had I trusted AA.com at 4 hrs out I would have been screwed when I saw my name NOT on the list
