Complimentary Drink and Snack in AA Main Cabin for Executive Platinum, oneworld Emerald and Concierge Key
AAdvantage Executive Platinum and ConciergeKey® members can enjoy a complimentary* beverage and one snack flying in Main Cabin (or MCE) on American Airlines or American Eagle. Undocumented, but in the Flight Attendant manual, it seems to include all oneworld Emerald members; see below.
Internal AA documentation specifies (shown in reverse status order):
Language (Dec 2014) from the AA website:
HAVE A SNACK AND DRINK ON US
Refresh and Relax
AAdvantage® Executive Platinum and ConciergeKeySM members can enjoy a complimentary* beverage from our standard alcoholic selections as well as one of our snacks, where available, when flying in the Main Cabin on board American Airlines, American Eagle®, US Airways, and US Airways Express. The snack on American includes any food item on our menu. The snack on US Airways includes any item from our à la carte menu.
Here's What You Do
At the time of your order, just present your AAdvantage Executive Platinum member card or boarding pass, or your ConciergeKey membership card. It's that simple!
What's on the Menu
We continue to revitalize our menu items to deliver an array of fresh and convenient sweet and savory snacks and meals on board our flights. This includes items* such as a chicken Caesar salad or one of our premium sandwiches – both served with chips. You can also treat yourself with hand crafted cookies, a fruit and cheese plate, or a gourmet blend of spiced nuts – which can be perfectly paired with a domestic or imported ice cold beer, a red or white wine from select California and international wineries, or an alcoholic beverage of your choice.
*Eligible customers may select any snack available on board any flight where food is available and one liquor miniature, beer or 187ml bottle of wine on a complimentary basis. Items may vary.
Post editor's emphases.
*Standard alcoholic beverage is one liquor miniature, beer or 187ml bottle of wine. Items may vary.

from post #357 by flight62, 4 Oct 2015:
Beginning October 17 (2015), Executive Platinum and Concierge Key customers (EP/KEY) traveling in the Main Cabin on former LUS metal may select any complimentary food item from the MarketPlace menu, including snack boxes and fresh food offerings on applicable flights.
The recognition benefit will then be fully aligned on both carriers to include: À la carte snacks, snack boxes, fresh meals, beer, spirits and non-premium wine.
Enhancements will be introduced to the MyFlight application on your tablet in early November which will allow you to identify customer frequent flier status. Until then, reference final paperwork per current procedures. It is important that you continue to use the “EP/KEY” complimentary reason code to record these transactions. This step ensures we provision adequate inventory to support the program.
Thank you for recognizing our most valued customers for their loyalty to American through this expanded benefit.

Anyone have a copy of the US menu card from the seat back?
Does it list AA EXP as well as US CP? On the US website, I can only find information about the benefit as it pertains to US CP.
I have an upcoming flight on US and since upgrades for AA EXPs are hit/miss on US flights, I will try asking the FAs about the snack/drink benefit is I am seated in Y.

Complimentary drink & snack for EXP & CK in coach AA or US coach
There's a section on the final manifest "noteworthy passenger list" that lists all elites. ExPlt is listed as Emerald and I think that throws some f/as off too. It is printed on the menu in the seatback pocket. Entitled to one free drink and one ala carte snack item. Biggest problem I have is the ones asking for free drinks and snacks for everyone in their party and then getting upset when we refuse. I always try to offer a refill if the flight is long enough but I think the expectation that all their friends and family should receive the benefit as well is a little far fetched.

I think the bigger issue between the two is that on AA it is if you are a US CP, it will automatically show that you are EXP on the little hand hand devices. I was in coach the other day and saw that the EXP were a different color (by seat) on the hand held device and I was the same color as EXP.
On US everything is still in the dark ages so they only have those paper logs...
On the US menu at the bottom it says something to the effect that US CP, AA EXP, and concierge key members get one drink and one snack. I would just show that to the FA and it should solve the issue.
Hopefully, at some point US will be upgraded to the AA scanners.

Hi all,
Quick question - is it confirmed that other airline elites get the complimentary snack/drink or is it given on a discretionary basis? I'm BA Gold (oneworld Emerald) and am flying JFK-BOS in Y this afternoon and was wondering if I would be proactively offered it/have to ask for it.

On the US side I have no clue, but should have a couple experiences in the coming weeks.

On the US side, they are annoyingly strict about a la carte snacks ONLY. This is Pringles, M&Ms, a nut mix, and hummus/pita chips. I would not count on getting a sympathetic FA - I pretty much had to fight for my last one because the FA did not understand that EXP = OWE.

US AIRWAYS, stingy to the last second. I'm still concerned they will carry over elites having to pay for "choice" seats when merged officially with AA. Which blows my mind since the "choice seats" have the same cramped leg-room, no power, no frills seats as they do in 37 toilet.

As per the T&C's of this benefit, it's documented as being for for EXP and (now) CP.
I have come across many anecdotes of it being provided for non USA airline Emeralds - mainly on AA. It seems that the PAX manifest shows Emeralds with the same denominator as EXP.

Haha then those US FAs must use it for TP because they never looked at it or acknowledged it. She even argued with me once that EXP isn't emerald.
