cuz it waives the underage (below 25) charge..

Did you call Avis to get the miles posted?

Not yet, I'm waiting to see if the last two post and then will send an email asking for the credit. I don't foresee any problems with using USAA though since my other rentals posted and the receipt has the miles listed.

So I submitted a claim for missing AA miles for a few same day rentals that I made, and today an Avis CSR wrote me today with the following note stating that I would not be getting miles for the same day rentals:

"I have received confirmation that 50 points were applied to the three
rentals listed as "under investigation" below; however...
...as 2 rentals took place on the same day, we would
not be apply bonus miles to both rentals."

I didn't read a single statement in the T & Cs that same day rentals would not be credited the 3000 bonus miles. Am I missing something?

That's totally BS. Somewhere in this thread somebody brought up Avis CSR replied him "rentals must be reserved 24 hours prior", which he later took back. Looks like Avis CSR tends to improvise a lot of baseless statements.

I completed a one-day rental a few weeks ago and no miles posted. I emailed customer service to request the miles and they told me to go pound sand. Here's what they wrote back:

Thank you for contacting the E-mail Customer Service team.

Having reviewed, our records indicate the rental was only out for (9)
hours. The coupon terms state the rental must be at least (1) day / (24)
hours to receive the bonus points.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Should you need additional
assistance or have further questions, please let us know.

Kind Regards,

Kind Regards,

This is interesting because I've done several times 3.5 hours rental (check out Sunday morning 9AM and check back in 12:30PM same day) and miles are shown on rental receipts. I also got miles posted on AA, although only one of several rentals got posted, it is manifest that 3.5 hours rental works.

I am not sure about one thing: for my rentals occurred on weekends, there is fine print states:

Rate Rules:
FridayNight Stay is Required
Return rental by Monday
Checkout before 3PM Sunday

Not sure if you checked out on Friday or not. If so, this maybe the problem.

Finishing my seventh week with only one rental posting over in AA, but resisting the urge to follow up, this now seems reason to worry: If one returned the car the next day, but just less than at 24 hours, so as to avoid the extra time charge, would this come under the "less than a day" rule that others are encountering? Yeesh...

This looks like it relates just to the rate.

Which is K817165 endorsed by the promotion page.

My rental did occur on a Friday. I checked it out at 8:00 am and returned it that evening. However, I don't recall booking that specific weekend rate.

Besides, no where in the terms and conditions does it state you must keep the car for 24 hours. Does this mean that a 23 hour, 59 min rental would qualify for the bonus?

Can you find rate rules for your rental from your email confirmation?

There you go. You may be able to recover those miles but Avis may invoke this T&C as a defense.

Avis is not budging. The T&Cs don't state a minimum number of hours. As far as Avis is concerned 3 hrs out time is the exact same as 24 hrs. You get charged the exact same amount. Why does it matter to them if I kept the car overnight or returned it several hours later?
