After spotting the issues of posting miles for multiple rentals in one day, I only did one rental each day for the weekend of 09/14. So to your question, yes, I got both one-day rental miles posted for the two rentals I did in 09/14-09/15 and 09/15-09/16.

I emailed in this morning regarding the two rentals with the USAA AWD that never posted. Just received an email from Avis saying they had been credited and would appear on a future AA statement. Pretty good customer service and no problems for me with using USAA for any of my rentals.

Yeah, waiting also on two rentals which were made on the same day for a couple of hours.
I got charged the FF tax for both and my receipts also state the 3,050 miles, so I should be fine, but just not looking forward to having to fight for them with Avis.

If your receipts are showing 3050 miles awarded, most likely Avis has already sent those miles to AA (or alleged it has already done so). Next step is to outreach AA to get miles posted.

There was no indication of miles earned on any of my receipts (printed at the car, reprinted at the booth, emailed, or online).
There was no FF tax charged on any of my 5 LAX one-day rentals in August.

And yet I've now earned 3050 miles on each of those 5 rentals.
(And I never contacted Avis or AA about this, I just waited patiently.)
... So not having miles on your receipt doesn't mean anything necessarily. And not being charged FF tax doesn't mean anything necessarily.
