A couple answers for everyone.
Yes, this benefit applies to award tickets booked by the primary cardmember as long as the reservation includes the primary cardmember’s AAdvantage account number. Additionally, benefit is valid for travel booked and ticketed on or after April 2, 2012.
The American Airlines flight discount is redeemable toward the purchase of the base air fare and directly associated taxes, fees and charges that are collected as part of the fare calculation. Flight Discounts may not be used for products and/or services that are sold separately, such as upgrades; Admirals Club membership enrollments or One-Day Passes; baggage fees; pet fees; unaccompanied minor fees; oxygen fees; ticketing fees for transactions processed through American Airlines Reservations; taxes, fees or charges payable in connection with AAdvantage® award travel; AmericanAirlines Vacations(SM) or non-flight products and/or services sold by American Airlines.

Man, I know the airlines have all been experimenting with unbundling fares and I've come to accept it for things like baggage fees, extra legroom, etc., but charging for oxygen could be a new low. I wonder if this is on a 'per breath' basis, or more of an 'all you can breathe'?

ROFL! "Oxygen fees" is a little ambiguous. I am sure mberlew knows, but I want to be sure everyone is aware this fee relates to passengers ' Air Carrier Supplied Oxygen, which is $100 per segment, as passengers are not allowed to bring their own O2 tanks aboard. Some POCs (Portable Oxygen Concentrators) are allowed, and it can all be viewed here.

The letter also states "we'll be changing the card's annual membership fee to $95- but rest assured, the fee increase won't be applied during your first 12 months of cardmembership."

Priority boarding?
So I saw Anabolism's response on the previous page but wanted to see if we had indeed established - is there a difference between Gold Priority Access and "Priority Boarding" given to all the card holders? I only just recently made the jump to PLT and considered boarding ahead of Group1+ as the best benefit of elite status. It would be a shame to have Gold, Y-tickets, and all the Citicard members in one group...
Or maybe the majority of people with the card already have status so it's not much of a gamble on the airline's part?

The aa.com version of the boarding order makes it clearer: http://www.aa.com/i18n/urls/boarding.jsp Looking at that, Gold Priority AAcccess will board with Priority Boarding. Plat, EXP and First (as well as Military) already would have boarded.
I've seen inconsistencies at the gate, with regard to Group 1. They don't always call it. My current view, is get in line behind First, EXP and Plat, and when the call Gold or Priority AAccess, get on the bird.
I speculate that this is "Priority Boarding" is Group 1, which they've monetized as an add-on as well, for those w/o Priority AAccess. The "Premium Card" flag should trigger this at no additional charge. (Again, speculation here.)
The remaining question might be, does this benefit get you into the elite line at the security checkpoint or not.

Today (Saturday) was my day to call Citibank and get the info about what of the new benefits I would have on my old Citibank AA cards. The answer was 'all of the new benefits'.
Some are redundant to benefits I already have as an AA LT Gold, but the miles rebates, discounts for onboard purchases and the meager $100 for a $30,000 a year spend are new.
I predict that it is going to get very crowded at boarding time.

*You only have a chance to be approve for 2 Citi AA cards if you apply for both at the same time, preferably using two different kinds of browsers (eg, one Firefox, one IE), aka "the two-browser trick". If you wait as little as a day to apply for the second one, you'll get the dread "first time cardholder only" rejection, but for some reason, two apps submitted minutes apart usualy don't get this (ie, if the first one is approved, the one is very likely to be approved too). Of course, make sure you can meet the spend threshold on both cards withint the time limit for each; it only makes sense to applh for 2 instead of 1 if you can get both signup bonses, but often each has a signficant spend requirement.
You also have to wait 65ish days since your last 2 Citi apps, successful or denied (not AA-related, any Citi apps); this is a requirement of their credit department (only 2 personal card apps every 65ish days), not AA specific. The only AA-specific rule is 18 to 20 months since your last successful Citi AA app (and, btw, it doesn't matter when or even if you cancelled your last Citi AA card!).

Earlier in this thread I suggested calling Citi to confirm that ones card(s) will receive these benefits. I hereby change my tune. I called twice and was told both times that all of my cards would receive all of the benefits except the $100 credit. I specifically asked about my old silver Visa Signature (because it was not mentioned in the language that appeared online) and was assured that it too would receive the benefits. As of today, I have received letters form Citi saying that the $100 credit does apply to the old cards. I have also received letters for every Citi card in our household except my old silver Signature Visa. (It may be in the mail, but I doubt it.)

A friend of mine just let me know that she and her husband (no status for either) boarded AA flights as 'priority' even though they were riding on Am Ex Rewards points tickets. She has an AA Citi brand credit card that she uses to keep her AA account alive.
As I predicted it is going to get very hectic and crowded at boarding.

It seems as if the information is coming out every which way now. AA's own sight has pictures of the various AA Citicards and what they will get.

If I have an AAnytime award ticket booked for a family member (and the cabin is far from full) and a qualifying Citi card, any reason to not cancel and immediately re-book it?
