If you'd read other threads about Citi card signups in the MIlesBuzz! and Credit Card forums, you'd know by now that the trick is to wait 18 to 20 months (no reports yet of anyone being denied at 20 months, but some still denied at 18 months) since your last successful Citi AA card app, and you are likely to approved for one, maybe two*, Citi AA cards.
*You only have a chance to be approve for 2 Citi AA cards if you apply for both at the same time, preferably using two different kinds of browsers (eg, one Firefox, one IE), aka "the two-browser trick". If you wait as little as a day to apply for the second one, you'll get the dread "first time cardholder only" rejection, but for some reason, two apps submitted minutes apart usualy don't get this (ie, if the first one is approved, the one is very likely to be approved too). Of course, make sure you can meet the spend threshold on both cards withint the time limit for each; it only makes sense to applh for 2 instead of 1 if you can get both signup bonses, but often each has a signficant spend requirement.
You also have to wait 65ish days since your last 2 Citi apps, successful or denied (not AA-related, any Citi apps); this is a requirement of their credit department (only 2 personal card apps every 65ish days), not AA specific. The only AA-specific rule is 18 to 20 months since your last successful Citi AA app (and, btw, it doesn't matter when or even if you cancelled your last Citi AA card!).
