Does anyone know if the free checked bag can be used on AA flights booked with British Airway miles?

Nice! I already get the old World Elite card for free.

Does the free bags count for award tickets as well?

I don't see fare codes mentioned for the $100 certificate. I wonder if it could be applied toward an award (for example partner fuel surcharges).

That's good news.

I guess all these cards are going to $95 annual fee then?

I have a Citigold checking account which has previously waived the annual fee on the Citi AA credit card, for the past 10 years. I hope this policy continues given the new benefits.

My reminder to cancel the 75K cards literally went off this morning.

Yes, this benefit applies to award tickets booked by the primary cardmember as long as the reservation includes the primary cardmember’s AAdvantage account number. Additionally, benefit is valid for travel booked and ticketed on or after April 2, 2012.

The American Airlines flight discount is redeemable toward the purchase of the base air fare and directly associated taxes, fees and charges that are collected as part of the fare calculation. Flight Discounts may not be used for products and/or services that are sold separately, such as upgrades; Admirals Club membership enrollments or One-Day Passes; baggage fees; pet fees; unaccompanied minor fees; oxygen fees; ticketing fees for transactions processed through American Airlines Reservations; taxes, fees or charges payable in connection with AAdvantage® award travel; AmericanAirlines Vacations(SM) or non-flight products and/or services sold by American Airlines.

I'm guessing that the 2 miles for $1 spend on American Airlines is only for purchases on aa.com (and international versions), and not for say, buyAAmiles through points.com?

Quick follow up...I booked an award ticket before April 2, but noticed that there was an hr+ schedule change. Can I rebook award ticket for different flight, or do I have to cancel and rebook to get bennies?

Here's the small print:

7 Double AAdvantage® miles on eligible American Airlines purchases
You will earn two American Airlines AAdvantage® miles per $1 spent on eligible purchases made with your Citi® / AAdvantage® card for items billed by American Airlines as merchant of record. Products or services that do not qualify are car rentals, hotel reservations, American Airlines VacationSM packages, purchases of American Airlines AAdvantage® miles, duty free purchases and AA CargoSM products and services. AAdvantage® bonus miles will be posted to your AAdvantage® account 8-10 weeks after a qualifying purchase.

every little bit helps

So when I use my card to buy a $7 drink on board, I'll get 14 miles and $1.75 rebate.

10% miles back

So if I just redeemed miles today and have both the old personal Amex and Visa cards which seem to have gotten these benefits. So does that mean I automatically get 10% back? Do I have to use the card to pay for the fees (the fine print doesn't mention that)?
Earn 10% Back on Your Redeemed American Airlines AAdvantage® Miles

For benefit to apply, your Citi® / AAdvantage® account must be open and active at the time of redemption. The American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles you earn through this benefit will be based on 10% of the total AAdvantage® miles you redeem each month during the calendar year. The maximum number of AAdvantage® bonus miles you can earn annually from this benefit is 10,000 AAdvantage® bonus miles per calendar year, regardless of how many AAdvantage® miles you redeem in that calendar year. This benefit only applies to AAdvantage® miles redeemed from the primary cardmember’s AAdvantage® account. Discover all the ways to redeem AAdvantage® miles at www.aa.com/redeem. Please allow 6-8 weeks after your redemption for the American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles to post to the primary cardmember’s AAdvantage® account.
