Perhaps some of the calculus is devoted to variable loads in paid F, and Boardroom Members. Perhaps agents can take a snapshot at incoming flights and gauge how much demand will be on the lounge. Or not, I really don't know.

Well, this could theoretically happen. But it's not happening. And won't happen. Instead, admittance will be erratic, until they are bounced from the program.

BTW, is there an effective method of giving feedback to PP about this situation? I don't see why it would be in their corporate interest to have Alaska participate in the manner in which they currently are participating. It certainly doesn't make for happy customers.

You are PP's user, not its customer. The credit card companies are its customers.

LAX- Sunday, August 19 around 11:45 AM- was VERY surprised that the sign was NOT out at the elevator entrance on the main terminal level, went upstairs and was kindly welcomed inside with my PP card, including wife and 2 kids. Mentioned being surprised I could get in and the lounge agent said, "We are getting more crowded by the minute". We all enjoyed a nice bowl of soup, some cheese and a cookie, and on our way out 25 minutes later to catch our flight, saw the sign out blocking PP cardholders. Got in just under the wire! While the lounge was nothing amazing, it was nice to get a bit of food before the flight and have comfy seats.

Congrats....I would say that the LAX lounge is probably the most difficult to obtain PP access with PDX following close behind.

Did you ever consider the possibility that your comment triggered the agent to put the sign up?

This thread made me wonder just what that $150 ($450 fee less the $300 travel credit) (actually, after the TSA pre it is only $65 or $50 if GE) lounge access gets people other than at an AS lounge and found this thread:
Priority Pass Benefits rapidly improving.
Looks like if a great lounge is desired you have to travel outside the USA.

Less credits and a higher fee, the AMEX Plat has its own collection of lounges ^

Which also seem to be having capacity control issues also. SEA being one.

PP should just leave AS lounges

Given AS is money grubbing (look at their recent changes) judt have PP threaten to leave, instead of coming up with new rules (this 3 hour prior to boarding business) all the time, and see how AS management responds.
I would rather just not have the AS lounge option than a shot worse than winning it in Las Vegas

Obviously, my post was applicable to the vast majority of PP cardholders who receive their membership as a credit card benefit.

Pretty smart game PP is playing. They stand to make money regardless of how useless they are because most premium cards (Amex, Chase, Citi) needs it to appear competitive. I have 4 PP memberships from 4 premium credit cards and I used it zero times over the past year. Looks nice on paper and marketing material but quite useless in practice. Hope premium cards find better uses for their benefits allocation. #PriorityRejection

I would also add that a lot of those PP holders, however attained, want it to be their AL Membership. Adding the PP benefit to a premium credit card saturates a market all vying for limited capacity.
