Perks
Chauffeur Drive NOT Available
Car service is not available for all Business Class and First Class passengers on Alaska Airlines ticketed award tickets on Emirates flights (as of Jan 2015). The chauffeur will not confirm if you use the EK website for this, though the website makes it look you can make a reservation.
Lounges
Access is available for all passengers traveling in Business and First Class. Not all cities have lounges and many may be operated by a Partner. There have been some reports of people having an issue accessing the Dubai lounges as the tickets may appear in their system as non-revenue employee travel. This is not as much of a problem as it used to be but in case it comes up please advise the lounge attendant that you are on an Alaska Airlines award.
Dubai Connect
AS Awards on EK do not qualify for Dubai Connect, which is the service that offers the free hotel.
Tricks to find Transoceanic availability
Instead of performing a blanket, i.e. SEA-DXB search, perform: SEA-MED.
Madinah is a destination that is only served by EK. Consequently, if there is availability, only EK will show up in the calendar results.

Today AS opened up their award calendar for 09/10/16 and that isn't showing anything available but economy on EK whereas previously every day was wide open in J and F.
I wish one of the bloggers that actually have contacts at AS and EK would pick this story up and help get to the bottom of what's going on here.

Houston on 8,9
JFK and Sept 8,9
All in first on EK. Along with BA of course.
Expert flyer does not show first for any of those dates.

The route I'm looking for is DFW-DXB-MLE. One other strange issue I noticed is that before Sept. 1 there was plenty of J space on the DXB-MLE segment but ever since 09/01 all that shows up for that segment is Y. This issue started before the award space disappeared from EF which makes this issue more intriguing. I'll book the ticket for F with the DXB-MLE segment in Y and hope space in J (or F depending on which plane they use on the route for that day) opens up later.

Well, AS' calendar still showed space so I booked it. Thought it would error out, nope. KIX-DXB-LAX-ANC (1st segment biz so may change).
However, there is plenty of phantom Z space, as I tried again to get my family of 4 on a longhaul on EK. No dice still, although AS shows space on EK. I tried several weeks going through the payment page where an error message indicated "The request was not successful. See the red message(s) below. Space on partner flights cannot be confirmed. Please change the dates, cities, or flights of your original request. -1640
To continue, shop again for other fare and flight options. If this problem continues, please call 1-800-ALASKAAIR for other fare and flight options. -10"

Where AS shows 4 available, does space disappear after only booking 2?

The reason there is no BOS <> DXB J space available is because of a glitch?

FYI - I just changed my two (2) F seats IAH-DXB-SIN on 07/29 to 09/09. So if someone is looking to go IAH-DXB-XXX in F on 07/29 there should be 2 seats available soon.

Space in J and F just showed up on AS for EK for the 10th. This is really strange. This has got to be some sort of IT issue on EK's side.

Still missing on EF though.

What I don't believe has been provided is an example where:
1) EF shows nothing
2) AS shows something
3) AS successfully tickets, either with an agent or via its site
Isn't that the core issue?

With all due respect, there is such an abundance of phantom availability, I'm not sure your observation is in any way unique. That isn't a flame at all. What happened when you tried to book it?

Whether this space is bookable I don't know. I was just making an observation.

I was referencing my post from before where when the AS calendar opened up for 09/10 there was no space even listed except for Y. About 24 hours later it eventually showed up. Today the space for all cabins showed up at the same time. so that's different. I was also referencing the fact that there was no J space even listed for DXB-MLE after 08/31/16. It's now showing up again.
Whether this space is bookable I don't know. I was just making an observation.

I believe Beckoa provided an example just above. That said, in the same post he said he tried a different booking and it failed, so all that has been proven is that it is unreliable, unfortunately...

STOP PRESS. Just ticketed!
1) DARDXBJFK next summer.
2) EF showed nothing.
3) AS site showed at least 4 in both J and F.
4) AS res said they had 2 in J.
5) AS res said they had 2 in F.
6) Ticketed both. Have ticket #s. Got EK PNR. Picked seats. Got confirm from EK.
7) On EF, flights went from F4 to F2, and from J6 to J4.
8) AS receipts show Z and D as inventory.
Agent was Phoenix-based, very helpful, PM if you want his name.
None of this makes any sense to me.
