So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

Actually, one of the advertised benefits of an LMU is lounge access.

Indeed! Now if only COS bonuses were included, too...

May 9 - HKG to YVR

4500HKD (about C$700) -- Best deal I have ever had for a long haul of that duration (although it was on the 777HD)!

No upgrade offer during OLCI at T-24. Checked on-line a couple of times before leaving for the airport with no success. Asked at the check-in counter and they said to check at the gate. Was resigning myself to being in PY, but went to the gate early and bingo, a seat was available. First time I have ever upgraded and paid at the gate.

Yes, you're right and no upgrade credits needed! At both check-in and at the gate the agent referred to some sort of printed tariff and both quoted the same number. I guess at the last minute, if the seat is available and no one is on the upgrade list, better to sell if for the tariff rate.

YVR-LAX on a Tango fare AC1878 (Rouge 763) tomorrow morning. $299 - declined.

I wonder if this is an Op-Up scenario... Confirmed there is no IKK availability on the flight.

may 15 AC851 LHR-YYC from Flex lowest $849 CAD. Makes it hard to justify paying to eupgrade as this is close to the copay.

Been seeing this quite regularly on the YVR-LAX flights. I've flown from YVR-LAX and vice versa on a mix of Tango and Flex fares about 20 times this year. $299 seems to be the norm. The most ridiculous was $549.
