This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition, 2016 edition , 2017 edition, 2018 edition and 2019 edition.
The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues, status or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs, destinations, in-flight travel tech. or anything best discussed elsewhere on FT may be relocated to that forum as this thread isn't meant to import travel topics to this forum that are better discussed on other forums. FT is an amazingly diverse and large community so members are encouraged to seek out all of its resources.
While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply here as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

I've only tried the Arrans once. I don't recall them being very smoky (certainly not a Lagavulin or anything like that), but I don't like any smoke. I generally look at the Whisky Exchange or Master of Malt tasting notes, and if they have the smoke >0, it's pretty much not going to be something I enjoy. I'll often still try them if I'm at a tasting where it doesn't cost me anything, but have yet to enjoy any of them.

It's a tiki bar. I don't know if I'd say "pirate themed".
They currently have a selection of 800+ different rums. I've only tried 70 so far. At 100 I get my name on the wall. I have a friend who's done 300.
I thought I'd probably get there by the end of April, but that seems unlikely now.

It's virtual tiki party for us on Friday, and we're making a couple of Smugglers Cove drinks just to honour our times there.

I'm starting to run into some issues with UberEats/DoorDash/etc.
Restaurants are slowly closing down (even for pickup/delivery), but not updating those on-demand delivery platforms. So I place an order, and 30 minutes later it's cancelled when they realize the restaurant is closed.
So now not only is my favorite walkable Indian place closed, but I have to be weary of any orders I make to other restaurants.

Yet the place where I get my Vietnamese subs seems to be super busy. Always people in there for take-out and lots of couriers in and out when I go there, so they might be doing okay.

I haven't seen that issue here (yet). But I do know the guy who runs my favourite Italian-style pizza place and the guy who owns the donair place I usually go to. Both have said that they're barely covering costs of ingredients and labour, not making much towards their fixed costs or for themselves. The guy at the pizza place says business is down about 75% from the same week the previous year, and also said he has been noticing business drop off week by week. He figures that the longer this goes, the less people will feel they have the money to spend on pricey pizza. He has resisted shutting down because it's so much work and hassle to get it up and running again, but at some point, if he's not covering the cost of his ingredients and what he has to pay the small staff, he'll have to. The donair place is essentially a one-man operation, and he doesn't want to just sit around the house, so he said he'll probably stay open.
