I can't help it.

It's like sex. You got to try everything once.

To Air Canada, this is 'Mission Accomplished.'
My client wanted me on that flight with them. So no choice.
Now for the 156 redeye, do you propose I fly WS? When 162 is around I always choose that over the HD.

Having said that, even if I paid outright for the HD, it is a miniscule percentage of my yearly spend anyway, so I actually paid AC with my wallet for all other non-HD flights.

But who cares - good riddance to that gawdawful J cabin. Can't wait.

The difference is that activity is (for me, anyhow), enjoyable.
Flying the 77P in Y in a non preferred seat, not so much.

Hmm, maybe they can program some, ahem, mood lighting.

I dunno; you take one little riding crop out of your carry-on and next thing you know you're being tackled by Air Marshals and restrained with handcuffs and duct tape...

Never mind, I retract the comment.

Due to miscellaneous circumstances, I was unable to ride the 777HD in J (sad face).

However, SFette did get to fly it in a throne seat.

She said "please, never again", and "how can anyone sleep in there when your feet are locked in position and can't move".

That's how I felt this morning on 156. Only J redeye choice YVR YYZ so I could be at a client office.

Good riddance to that crap cabin.

90% of the time I absolutely despise the cabin crew and try to not interact with them at all/keep to myself. I believe SOP was broken on 156 this morning, unless things have changed regarding storage of your bags in your own J footwell.

AC 142 Dec 20 - C-FNNQ - FIN 745

Seat 5D was not "working" and would not open to the lie-flat position despite the best button-pushing efforts of SD and seat mate.

I had a similar miserable experience in 4D on a previous YYZ-YVR flight.

THE LESSON HERE: I would not spend money of any amount to fly that cabin transcon again, let alone pay well over $6,000 for a TPAC on that thing.

You cannot tell a customer they are getting a seat with lie-flat features when those features do not work. Period.

Let me know when that bird comes out of rehab.

I'm 100% with you, but I'm just waiting for FT members to start complaining once the new cabins are installed and the number of seats drop, making upgrade harder.

That's because it was a throne seat, literally the worst seat for sleeping on that aircraft (but to be fair, I flew it HKG-YVR and was able to sleep without whining).

It's like saying "Bob punched me in the face, and it really sucked, so I never want physical contact with another human. How can anyone enjoy it?"
