pre-marriage passport had to be returned before requesing a new one, that's the problem
our return flight is with BA, they did the change after sending them documents via email within a day or so

Thank you NextWhiteDeath, wmaciej and futuramadramallama for your replies and support for my post #2506 above. I checked the availability of 777 aircrafts in the LAX-HND leg and found some in October, but due to a schedule change the connection time for the LHR flight would be unreasonably long (some 16 hours). Then I did call ANA, but they said that there is nothing they can do, that I should sort it out with Aegean. They also checked other departing flights from the US with a 777 and there were some from ORD and JFK, but no award availability in F for the whole month of April 2022. I sent a contact request (as instructed in the cancellation email) to Aegean but haven't got a reply yet. I know I should probably call them, but I thought of giving them a couple of days before I do so. I will let you know how this story ends.
And I did use the A3 award search engine to make the original booking (and check for F availability later this year). There may be an easier way to do that, but I am not aware of such tool. And being a bit old school, I sure cannot code a bot or harness AI to do the job for me

Not that familiar with A3 but the general resolution to a marriage name name change is to carry document/passport for both pre-marriage and post-marriage name plus a copy of the marriage license. Present all documents at check-in, security, immigration, ... this is not a uncommon situation and the authorities are use to it.
The airlines generally will not change names even a marriage change, so the necessity for the dual sets of documents.

I am trying to change my award flights via aegean .com. to another time the same day, everything goes fine but when i choose an option doesn't leave me proceed and the 15079 - 421 error appears.
From the call center they told me that they are unable t see any of the flights that I am seeing in my screen. How is that possible.
is anyone familiar with this issue?

The application is the same. It is a single ticket. Which should have all the feature of a non basic ticket. Any changes go through A3 so you are beholdent to their fees. The airline on the other side side just see you as a 3rd party booking. They most likely get paid less but you are like a 3rd party booking.

If it's a ticket for a United Airlines flight, then you won't be able to check a bag for free, so it doesn't always work that way. The good thing is, that a Miles&Bonus award ticket with United doesn't give you their cheapest ("basic") equivalent of a fare either, so at least you don't get charged for more stuff, like carry-on or whatever.
