Does SQ ever open award on business class ? I am looking at flights FRA-JFK, which has a 5th freedom SQ flight. There are economy seats available for every day I look but no business seats.

when SQ makes a mistake, it will open to certain *A partners. But nowadays, SQ makes fewer mistakes.

Guys, i cannot decide...
EVA B787-10 + B787-10 from EU to US;
EVA B787-10 + B777W from EU to US;
ANA B789 + UA B789/X from EU to US;
ANA B77W + B789 from EU to US;

EVA B77W has old J product... ANA B789 doesnt look so nice like their J Room but UA Polaris is well rated... ANA B77W is nice but the taxes are beyond the sky from LHR and the continuation is on B789...

So?

EVE can provide some interesting lines but ANA can be better. NH taxes have goon up a fair bit between LHR and ADP tax increases and Japan allowing some fuel surcharges as fuel costs are high. Taxes and fees have gone up 50% in the last year on the ex-lhr ana routes.
If you care about the booze then EVE does have a very nice selection in J and depending on the routing you can have "3" flights with the BKK layover.

How to find FRA/LHR-TYO-LAX route

Hello all,
i have been A3*G for almost a decade now and I have followed these forums for years.
I still haven't understood how you find award space for the LAX Asia routing. I did a free trial on expertflyer but still haven't been able to find any.
Further to the above if someone could please answer the following questions or direct me to the relevant thread.
How many A3 miles are required for J and F?
Can I do a stopover in Asia?
Do you book the return flight ex USA-Europe with miles or cash? (One way fares are ridiculously expensive).
Are these flights bookable with cash?
Thank you in advance and thank you for all the insights in this forum

Yes, finally I picked up the route via BKK and all legs in B78X.

I know but it will change from March 2022, as per China Airlines: Starting from March 1, all travelers (Taiwanese nationals or foreign nationals with ARC) coming to Taiwan and transit passengers are required to provide a certificate of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within three days (flight schedule time) prior to boarding the flight to Taiwan.

You need to search on the A3 website, after being logged in to your account. Then just go to Award Flight and search for dates. I did a search with 3 random dates and I found one flight on one.
A J flight is 55 000 miles.
Stopover not permitted.

Remember UA is your enemy in these weird routes. So UA has to be unavailable.

A bit silly but I was looking for flights to TPE which would cost 65000 miles. If I book a flight to LAX with stopover in TPE I'd have to pay 55000 miles. Has anyone of you "miss" a leg on award tickets and is that okay to do?

Dropping the last segment is fine. If you do a no-show, all subsequent segments will be cancelled as well.

Unless you've got unrestricted access to both countries (like being a U.S. and Taiwanese citizen), I'd strongly advice against making such plans in this day and age. Let's say that if you're a regular European citizen, you'll need a U.S. ESTA and a return flight out of the U.S. to be allowed to check in for the flight in the first place. The rules for traveling today are so complex that making it even more complex to save 10,000 miles is risky business.

I have to agree. Before the pandemic it was doable (hand baggage only of course!). Even then there was a chance that they might come back at you, but it was probably a very small risk.

With different restrictions and requirements changing daily, this is not the best time to book flights with the intention of dropping legs. There are just too many questions being asked at check-in.

I must be doing something wrong.
I check 100+ dates each for LHR-LAX and FRA-LAX.
I saw ZERO availability from everyone except LOT only a handful of dates.
Am I missing something really obvious? I search for one-way flights btw.
