5 minutes tops...from E to the escalator near the food court...another 30 seconds if you want to walk all the way over to the elevator.

Nice

I learned something today from this thread. Even though I am in this airport most every week I do not venture past terminal "C" much. And on those occasions it is by bus. I did not know E is now connected.

cxn time Int'l-US @PHL

Cool thread.
I agree that two hours of minimum cxn time should be considered if you travel from outside the U.S. into PHL and have a domestic cxn. This is especially true for non-U.S. citizens. I travelled recently FRA-PHL-MCO and queues at immigration were atrocious (1:20 waiting time). On your walk from A-arrivials to C (C28 im my case ) or even F you have to pass a security checkpoint which typically is jammed with all the arriving tourists and therefore is slooow (only two lines open). If you have to go to the F gates add another 15 minutes.
Thus, three hours should be a secure choice. You may always relax in the lounge (or in one of those nice rocking chairs).

Yup, I was lucky to stop there on an MCO-PHL-ROC hop last week, and F terminal is a pit anyways .

quick question
flying YYZ-PHL-FCO on US

Flight from YYZ comes into terminal F- then I have to bus it to terminal A
How often does the bus show up?
During this time- since im flying US all the way through- are they going to transfer my luggage for my connecting flight?
My connection time is 89 minutes.

worried about making it myself, let alone the luggage.

You should be fine and your luggage should make it too.

As I posted earlier in this thread, I made it from a F-Terminal arrival on US Express to the A-Terminal for a flight to MAD in about 20 minutes. The buses should be running on a regular basis at that time of day. If your flight from YYZ is on time or even 30 minutes late, you should be OK.

If your inbound flight from YYZ is delayed, your bag might miss the connection. All incoming bags from Canada get rescreened. You don't have to do anything, but it takes a little longer since the bags are brought to baggage claim, met inside by a ramp agent, and then taken over to the TSA. At 89 minutes you should be ok, just don't pack anything you need right away.

thanks to both of you for the responses..and thanks for including so much detail...odd though that the bags would get rescreened

Probably something to do with us not trusting foreign security. They will be transferred for you, and the bus runs every 5 minutes or so.

Hi, I'm going to be flying with US Airways from MAN to DFW through PHL and CLT.

Does anyone know if they'll check my bag straight through to DFW for me?
And I believe I'm going from terminal A to terminal F, will I have to clear security and check in again?

Your itinerary is a bit confusing. Why are you routing MAN-PHL-CLT-DFW, when you can fly non-stop PHL-DFW - albeit requiring a 4.5 hour connection. The PHL-CLT-DFW connecting flight would only get you into DFW about 20 minutes earlier than the non-stop PHL-DFW flight. Also, I don't believe any PHL-CLT flights depart from PHL Terminal F.

You should be able to get all of your boarding passes at MAN.

Your bags will be checked through to DFW, but you will need to reclaim them at PHL when you clear customs. You will also need to clear security in PHL. (This is the rule for entry to the USA, regardless of whether you are connecting or not.)

There will be a desk to drop off bags and a security checkpoint after customs around the corner on the right. As noted above, your flight to CLT will likely depart from B or C rather than F; B/C are walkable from the security checkpoint. If you do need to go to F, there is a bus that runs from A. You can pick it up at gate A-1.
