For clarity, this comment referred to what was once a separate thread and only applies to the last several comments about *G lounge access. The thread it now sits in gets a big ^ from me!

F Lounge. It's small but it's decent. Last night it was very packed with barely a seat left though.

I assume the quotes on "free" was for the "nominal" $1 charge that they say PA law requires them to charge. Does the UA club in PHL somehow get around that?

MCT

I have a flight next week that is going from Mainline to Express (part of my MKE-CLT-PHL-BGR extravaganza). I've only been to PHL once so I have no clue where things really are. Is 45 minutes enough? If I misconnect I'm not too concerned, there are two (maybe three later flights).

But, yes. 45 minutes? Yah or noah?

Depends on who is operating the Express flight.

If the connection leaves from terminal F'ed, you might have some trouble :/

It is on Republic on an E170.

I believe the correct nomenclature is Terminal "F" - the Commuter Terminal. "F'ed" doesn't appear to be a valid use of the suffix "ed" with the single letter "F". Maybe you mean that the op could be FED in Terminal "F".

Op, there is a frequent shuttle bus that runs from Gates C16 and A1 to F10.
CLT flights can arrive at Terminal B,C or A, depending on their next routing. BGR flights always leave from Terminal F. If you arrive at "A", suggest take the shuttle bus from A1. If your arrival is at "B", either take the shuttle from A1 or from C16. If a "C" arrival either take the shuttle from C16, or walk to "F" - about 15 minutes from farthest "C" to farthest "F" (with no luggage). If the CLT flight arrives near on time, 45 minutes should not be a problem.

Per one of the other contributors to the thread, you would be departing from terminal A, B, or C (Republic flight). So no need to hop over to F. (this is outlined in the first post of this thread)

All good info, but note that at the moment, there are two Republic-operated BGR-PHL flights, one on an Embraer 175 (US 3101, 7:08am daily) and the other on a 170 (US 3346, 3:47pm daily ex. Saturday), that would arrive in PHL Terminals A, B or C (B or C being most likely).

Unless something has changed, if you walk to F then you have to reclear security...a risky move depending on how long security is.

I'm acutally going the other way - PHL-BGR. The return I have a few hours for a layover, so I'm not concerned about those. It is the CLT-PHL (1106) flight that could throw a wrench in things, the ontime rating isn't particuarly confidence inspiring.

If you're that concerned, you can always try to do the, "Move up," to an earlier flight. As a non-US preferred the fee is $50 (there have been stories of *A elites getting it waived).

Thanks for letting me know about that. I'm already on the earliest flights that I can be on.

Connection in Phl to Frankfurt

I am flying USAir out of SFO with an arrival of 2:40 PM in PHL. Departure for USAir Frankfurt-Main flight is 4:20 PM. Is this doable?

Should be no problem. If the SFO-PHL flight is (very) late and you miss the 4:20, there are 2 later flights - 1 on US and 1 on LH. If the connection fails and US doesn't do an auto re-schedule (they very likely will), when you arrive in PHL be pro-active, go to a US agent in Terminal A-West and request to be put on 1 of the 2 later flights.
