Definitely don't need to reclear security on the walk from C to A. Even says so in the first post in this thread

Thank you! Sorry I glossed over that fact when reading through it earlier .

(Alternately, take the R1 to 30th street and then take the R2 south to Wilmington and Newark.)
When taking Airport Line (former R1) to Wilmington/Newark (former R2) to Delaware, transfer at University City instead of 30th Street. That shaves about 5-10 minutes off your connection window and sometimes that means scoring an earlier R2.

Thanks for tip about 37. Never knew about that one. Not too crazy about hanging around Chester with a lot of luggage though. May come in useful if I'm pressed for time.

And yeah, trips to the airport from Wilmington are horrible. A lot of us tend to tap friends for airport runs and in turn run a lot of friends to the airport.

IIRC, the last time I flew from Toronto Pearson I was screened by a TSA agent and not CATSA (Canada's equivalent agency) once I had gone through CBP pre-clearance.

Is Philadelphia Safe

This refers to a question on the Insiders Guide to PHL forum, about whether it is safe to visit the city during a layover....

Is Philadelphia safe?

Really? In a word, yes. If you are going during daylight hours and are headed to any of the historical locations, Center City, Society Hill, Penn's Landing, you’ll be fine.... West Philly is the same.
So basically you're saying:

In West Philadelphia I'll be safe - on the playground to spend most of my day. Chilling out, naxin, ralxin off, coolin off, shootin some b-ball outside of the school. What if a couple of guys who are up to no good? Start making trouble in the neighborhood? I get in one little fight and my mom gets scared and says:

"You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air"
And then she'd send me back to PHL for a flight to LA. ....

Couldn't help it, this FT'er grew up in the 90's

Sky Asian Bistro?

I haven't been through PHL in a few months. Last time I was Sky Asian Bistro in C was boarded up. Has any new restaurant gone into that location yet?

The PHL Marketplace website says that Sky Asian Bistro is open. I'm pretty sure I saw it open on my last trip through C three weeks ago, but my memory could be faulty.

OK, thanks. I guess in October maybe they were doing some renovations. I always like the bar there as a good "starting point"....

I'm flying RDU-PHL-BWI in May on a Saturday on my way to catch a long distance train. Due to a schedule change I went from a 1 hour to a 49 minute connection. Think it's worth sticking with the shorter connection or taking a RDU-PHL flight that's two hours earlier?

A bit confusing. Are you planning on connecting to a PHL-BWI flight at PHL and then to a train in Baltimore? If that's the case, isn't the decision based on the amount of time required to travel from BWI to the train station and the train departure time? I mean you obviously don't want to chance missing the train. As a backup, it's an almost seamless trip, via the in-terminal train, from PHL to the Philadelphia AMTRAK station (a 20 minute trip) and thence to less than hourly trains to Baltimore - a 1-1.5 hour trip.

Yes. I'm scheduled to arrive BWI at 12 PM then catch the Crescent to New Orleans at 5:30 PM. The purpose of the trip is to ride the train and Baltimore was the easiest place to catch it. Strange, I know, but this is fun for me.

It looks like they just remodeled. I haven't been in there since they remodeled, but I hope they didn't muck with the menu much. They were doing good business earlier this evening.

I'm not sure if this has been posted here or not, but I noticed last Friday when I returned to PHL, and today when I left PHL that the restrooms in the main corridors of terminals B and C are closed for renovations. You have to either use the restrooms near the exit by TSA or in the "shorter" end hallways in each terminal.

Considering how disgusting the woman's room in both terminals were, this is a welcome development.
