Had this happen to me once but I waited an hour and it went away. This is an application error message.

I am not experiencing this problem at all. .bomb defaults to 1 adult passenger for booking flights, whether logged in with my MP # or not.

Trying to do a dummy booking LAX-LHR in C to look at a seat map, as part of my "sweat out the upgrade" process.
I set up: LAX-LHR DEC 1 2007 Business (refundable)
It brings up the flights I want to look at all right - with a Y seat map.

Incredibly, when I log in and it knows my preferences, it defaults to 0 passengers, but when I book from the homepage without logging in, it does the sensible thing and assumes that at least ONE person wants to travel.

Problems with E-Upgrades?
Is the E-Upgrade feature down?
I just tried to apply an upgrade to my online res and it takes a long time to respond, and then it takes me to "Select an itinerary to Change" screen.

website trashed again.
I can't check flight status or do OCLI on either IE or Firefox right now.
a flight status check for ORD/MSP returns this lovely message:
Message from the NSAPI plugin:
No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF.
and my attempts to do OLCI just return a "can't find the page" screen.
UPDATE: OCLI now returns that some NSAPI plugin message.
BTW: I did note that there is a "employee checkin" link on the bottom of the home page that I hadn't seen before.

I tried to check a flight status on the website as well, and it gave me the same error you had.
It sounds like something is up on a larger scale, because any of the queries I am trying to pull off seatcounter for UA are not coming back either.

Seems that all UAL computers are presently down.....we're going to leave for ORD now......Hoping no problem/delay with our UAL flight to FRA, and short connection to Lufthansa flight to BCN. Must check luggage..
Phone res. cannot help......Perils of travel not good for blood pressure..
Good luck on yr trip..

If it's any comfort, here's what you get on the Delta website:
Whoops
We're sorry, but our website had a hiccup, so the task you are trying to do is not working at the moment.
We have alerted our technology team, and they are working to get this fixed for you right away. So check back with us in a few moments.

FWIW, there's now a link on the main page that leads to a page that says:
Customer alert: united.com
We’re sorry.
You may be experiencing a small delay while:
Purchasing or searching for fares on united.com
Viewing your Mileage Plus summary
Accessing EasyCheck-inOnline
We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
"Small delay" is an euphemism. It's actually completely broken.
