Then, I guess the nicest would be 1K UGS, or is it UGS 1K?

Ari is correct, as usual. GK is UGS 1K. GP is UGS 1P.

One thing that an FA shared with me that might help explain this is that UA is apparently comping UGS to directors of travel departments at large corporations resulting in lot of people who are not frequent flyers feeling really entitled. Wether UA actually comps a lot I dont know.

Anyway, I’m just passing on gossip from FAs, not my opinions, – hopefully I won’t be flamed by the UGS members on here.
Not all GS members are this way and obviously the FAs have never flown with me. I have never flaunted my GS status and treat all FAs with respect and dignity. If FAs want to talk, I am game for that. Heck, I would even serve them a non-alcoholic drink.

Well jrblack, a UGS member lives about 12 miles up the Diagonal in Longmont. I will try to avoid you to keep your streak going.

To "live" somewhere requires you're there more than 10 days per year, doesn't it!

I love flying, and I love travel, but I don't know if I could sustain the miles needed for 1K (and I know I couldn't pay the $$ for UGS). You guys are nuts!

Of course, not as nuts as this guy.

Well, I guess I qualify because I spend 12 days per year at home.

Look, spending UGS dollars is not bad when you get reimbursed for travel expenses. I make my UGS on someone else's dime. How can travel get any better?

The guy in the link is nuts. I will have to save the page and read it on my flight back to DEN today.

Rudeness and stupidity has nothing to do with status

I have seen many 1Ks, 1Ps, 2Ps, and GMs be rude and stupid. I saw a *G go totally bonkers on the security line in ICN. *G got upset because the person behind him asked him to hurry and inadvertly pushed him forward causing the *G to go off balance and almost fall forward as he was taking his shoes off and putting on the gross sandals they make you wear as you pass the metal detector. This made the *G really mad. The person behind him apologized but the *G just started waving his hands and making threatening gestures with a rubber sandal in his hand.

The *G tirade and stupidity were the result of character issues not status. Same as the UGS or wannabe UGS who is written about in the OP.

Or they have part-time jobs that fly them around a bunch of places... I'm all of 22 and sit in F quite a bit, thanks to my status on HP and mile after mile racked up flying to work on weekends.

Never a dirty look in the boarding line, either... although I did get a gate agent who was rather nonplussed when I asked about "my upgrade" until I pointed at the big "SILVER" printed on the BP...

That would be Mark Love and myself - VIP 1K UGS RCC MMFs.

Though Mark is a lifetime 1K and I am only comped through Feb. 2006.

And my Million Miles is flying 777-200LRs in Flight Simulator 2004.

We even have the special cards.

Except the "Global Services" is in the wrong place. It needs to replace the "Mileage Plus"

That would be true if we were "common" Global Services folks.

Global Services Plus! Start the rumors, someone! Quick, there's not enough elite tiers or VIP programs as it is! All those regular UGS folks are diluting the pool!

I just had a UGS push past me on my ORD-DFW flight (737) on Wednesday evening. I sat down in 2A and he was sitting happily in 7A, LOL!
