She's in 1A which exists on both old and new. I'm booked in 1J on the old config. There is no 1J on the new config, only 1K. It should be easy for UA to simply cross map me to seat 1K (how appropriate ) since there are only 2 seats in row 1 on both configs, but you never know.

FriendlySkies, for my flight we had a letter from UA on our chair asking us to fill out an attached "International Goodwill Kit" which was a post card & return it to a United representative. I also received an email directing me to the United.com/appreciation website....the FA made an announcment onboard telling everyone to go to United.com/appreciation in regards to the video system malfunction.

From my standpoint, my biggest complaint was not being told of the change by anyone at UA before boarding the plane. Then again, I guess I should have known better and looked at the seat map again before checking in that morning.

N194UA is in from PVG and according to flightaware is headed back there today (though I don't always believe flightaware until the flight has left the gate).

I'm a bit worried suddenly about Friday 11/5's SFO-NRT, though hopefully needlessly as it hasn't seemed to be making NRT turns.

Does anyone know if the swap occurs from UA194 to new configuration
does everyone lose their prior seat assigment?

If you are in row 18 upstairs and it goes from old to new config obviously
u lose yr seat but if you in row 16 would you still lose it
or will it keep u in same seat?

Thanks

I experienced the swap between 194 and new config on a itin last week and my 15A seat assignment stuck through the swap.

This has happened to me several times so far this year. I always choose a seat that is good in both versions (ie 15B or 16B) and it has always stuck following the switch.

I believe the only time there are problems is when the same seat does not exist or is not in the same cabin on the new plane.

Good luck!

Tim

The couple times I have had an equipment swap to a new configuration on 664, my seat has stayed the same. I always choose a seat that exists on both configurations.

on UnitedCargo, the timetable shows 47C for 664 the entire next 1 week til 11/12. I wonder if this will stay... have a flight on 11/12-13 on SFO-ORD, ORD-SFO.

And .clown won't let me check in this morning for tomorrow's 664. FlightAware is saying N194UA is headed for Shanghai today; if that's true, it's not all that ikely that it's going to be doing an SFO-ORD turn tomorrow.

I'm not seeing 47C on unitedcargo now, for any date.

It is showing as 47C all the way through till 11/15. Make sure you check "flight schedule on unitedcargo, not "flight status"

And there we go, thanks. This must be why checkins are disallowed for the flight right now. I smartly (? ) chose 16A in the upper deck. Hope it transfers over.

If you remember can you let us know if your exact seat number transfers over?

Thanks
