I like the new “View PlusPoints Upgrades” tab in the app that shows me which upgrades have been applied and also offers the options to cancel any that have not yet cleared. I have not used it yet, so if it works that is a change that I like!

Feature or glitch?

Interesting.

I noticed the flight status now shows upgrade waitlist names for flights well into the future (viewed using the date change trick in the app). I have some transatlantic flights in Feb, and although Polaris looks reasonably empty, the newly revealed list has 20 names on it, much to my surprise. Wonder if knowing well in advance where you are on the list will make people more likely to pay for Skip or cash upgrade to confirm.

What is the date change trick in the app?

You turn off the system auto time/date setting, then manually input today's date as something in the future around your flight. Then in the app, you can look at flight status for flights around that date. It used to just give numbers booked, but no info on waitlists. If you reset the date back to the real one, the app also remembers this future flight under the Recent tab of flight status queries so you don't have to keep messing with the system date every time you want to check that flight. There's a long thread on this forum where I learned to do this.

Just a report that the plus points upgrade request seems to be working already

i actually forgot it was supposed to end 6am central and not eastern and had jumped online at 6am eastern ..

I had a best case scenario - a flight two weeks out (HKG-EWR) that PZ hadn’t cleared yet and so I un requested the MPUA yesterday. Logged in this morning, saw my plus points available, and requested the upgrade using the app (really the safari browser).. PZ had opened, and it cleared Instantly

Best part is there these former RPUs “maybe“ Expiring Jan 2020 .

btw I know when I checked my account yesterday it said I had 8 RPUs expiring Jan 2020 but I only got 80 plus points expiring in January . Frankly not sure how as a 1k I would have earned that many, had it inflated them in the system?

oh and confirming that it looks like I jumped 10 people on the list (yes the initials are visible in advance)

Just realize that the list clear when the date goes beyond the flight. So, search for your flights backward in time..

Not working so well for me. I had a GPU applied to a SFO > TPE leg. I've been taken off the waitlist and those 40 PlusPoints are MIA.

It seems now the 100USD APD tax ex-LHR is not taken when requesting a waitlist-only upgrade, but only charged if and when the upgrade clears. In the past, I've had to chase up to get the tax refunded if the request didn't clear, so that's handy.

I’m seeing the same. It looks like the current waitlist shown includes those with instruments as well as the CPU priority. I have a domestic flight tomorrow afternoon I have not checked in for but come
up as #3 on the upgrade list. Interesting to see if this is a glitch or an intentional action perhaps to create some incentive to burn instruments as you’ve suggested.

Just received noticce that I was charged $20 in order to process an upgrade for my wife on a itinerary in which I had applied an RPU two months ago. ????

With this caveat:
"PlusPoints are on their way. As we convert Regional and Global Premier Upgrades to PlusPoints, you won’t be able to make new Premier upgrade requests or change reservations with existing Premier upgrade requests until December 4 at 6 a.m. CT. Thank you for your patience!"

holy cow .. I thought I was sad with like 80 points potentially expiring in January... 440?!

as other have reported the system is “resending” receipts for old instruments

Are you sure it doesn’t say 20 plus points ?

note mine says the unit is UGC which i assume means upgrade coupons

My GPU was redeposited and then converted to points before being deducted again for a flight I already have a confirmed upgrade.

Was charged 40 points to go from my original R fare to polaris. I thought it was supposed to be 30 to go from OAR to Z?

Have had a waitlisted GPU for Jan for a while now and has not cleared, I checked my app this morning and it said this. I was, and still am, in the same E+ seat. IT glitch? :

the new pluspoints system appears to be working great for me. Was able to waitlist a flight for tomorrow with no issues, as well as several future flights. So far so good
