Quick question.
When you’re waitlisted with pluspoints… PZ0… 24 hours to departure… #1 on the waitlist Is there any advantage to checking in online? Or is it ok to wait and check in at the counter? |

I would check in at T-24 h of the first flight in your itinerary just in case that check-in time is used as a tie breaker. What is the advantage for check-in at the counter?
Edit: Never mind. I can’t check in online. So now I just hope they don’t offer cheap upgrades to others checking in! We’re still #1&2. PZ8. |

Traveling with minor son that ended up on a separate itinerary (long story). He is required to check in at counter to show he is traveling with me. But I might be able to get myself checked in.

You first said PZ0 and now PZ8? Is one of those numbers wrong?

Yikes! Sorry about that. PZ0… that’s my problem. There were 8 seats left now 6. People buying upgrades I guess. And I can’t check in until morning. Still 1 & 2 on the waitlist.

My single plus point deduction seems to applied across a 50 hr stopover on a flight added to the PNR after the first segment cleared
I booked SYD-SFO, and then SFO to AKL, applied 80 plus points, both cleared within 24 hours. I then did a flight change and added a SFO to EWR leg departing 52 hours after arriving in SFO. I waitlisted an upgrade on this for 20 plus points supposedly. However in the United app, the flight change appears to have paired the sfo to ewr leg with the syd to sfo leg and the plus point tallies in the United app don’t make sense In one section, it says in total I’ve 40 pluspoints deducted and 20 on request (when 80 points worth have already cleared) and in another section it says a total of 80 have been requested of which 20 are pending and doesn’t show the upgraded SFO to AKL leg. Should I do anything about this. At worst it seems I’m waitlisted sfo to ewr for free, at best maybe it’s only going to cost me 60 pluspoints for 80-100 points worth. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...fd10cc65a.jpeg |
I just had a really weird experience booking a domestic flight. I did the advanced search to find PZ availabily an then tried to book the flight with the included PP upgrade (PZ=1), and it failed 3 times with a "cannot process payment" error.
I then booked it after a normal search without the upgrade and that worked. I then tried the upgrade manually, and the first time after selecting the PP upgrade it tried to charge me $180 (which was the prices for the upgrade at purchase time), so i cancelled that. Tried again and got through with a charge of $0, but the payment filed again, claiming there was a problem with may payment card. Tried once more and the PP upgrade finally went through. What is united doing to the website again? It then ended up putting me not into the seat I selected, but the only one that looked taken when selecting seats in an otherwise open F cabin. Weird. |
Is it possible to use Plus Points to upgrade someone else who booked a flight on Singapore Airlines? I tried searching the confirmation number and the united site couldnt find it. So would i need to call to do this? Is it even possible? And how many plus points is it usually?

They'll never cooperate in this manner. |

No. While UA/SQ are part of the same Alliance. The airlines fundamentally don't like each other.

PP can be used on LH for upgrades to Biz, but can they be used on LH group members, i.e., LX and OS, also?

Have an upcoming trip where return is upgraded using PP. I might need to change the return date. It’s booked through a corporate TA. How do I cancel or change the trip to get the PP back? If TA changes will they automatically be redeposited or do I need to call UA first?

So I had confirmed seats HND-LAX with PlusPoints in Premium Plus and then United has further delayed the launch of that flight.
They automatically rebooked my HND-SFO-LAX and confirmed the PlusPoints upgrade, but I'd rather stick with nonstop and switch to NRT-LAX. Can they force the upgrade since this was a schedule change, even though RN is 0 right now? Edit: I had pushed that a supervisor be asked and they finally opened up RN space and confirmed us NRT-LAX, even though the initial agent kept saying the same inventory had to be available. |
