ETA: Which ever PPs are available at the time of the upgrade, UA's systems will extract. So, if your upgrade doesn't happen until 02/01/23, they'll pull what other PPs are there (or not which would mean no SFO-NRT upgrade).

There are no PP valid after 1/31/2023 in the account.

IME, if you don't have PP valid for the date of travel, the system won't allow you to apply waitlist.

This is a special case BOS-SFO-NRT as a one ticket and UA gives me the option 20 PP for BOS-SFO or 40 PP for 1/31 BOS-SFO-NRT even though SFO-NRT is on next day 2/1.

Somehow in this case I think UA system considers the whole itinerary as one-way BOS to NRT departing 1/31 and allows me to use PP expiring on 1/31.

Even though, the 2nd flight departs on 2/1.

If my status changes, will I lose my PlusPoints?
No, PlusPoints, once granted, are good until they expire. You could conceivably drop to general member and maintain your PlusPoints. When you use the PlusPoints, you'll be prioritized based on your present status.
if someone is GS, has PlusPoints, then drops below GS, but still has unexpired PlusPoints, do they still clear into/waitlist for PN or does it depend on when PlusPoints are applied?

Then do it.

Reaching 1K in 2022 at 13.5K PQP, at what level do the extra 20 PPs per each additional 2K PQP kick in?
e.g. addl 20 PP at 15.5 PQP, 17.5 PQP, or
addl 20 PP at 17K PQP, 19K PQP etc?

So, it kicks in from 15PQP forward, even though 1K could be reached at 13.5K PQP/36 PQF ?

Kicked in :) 2022 is over.

First increment of 20PP was given once earned 17K PQP.

Based on historical anecdotal accounts on here, PlusPoints are based on status when applied for GS specifically. That is to say, if you apply PP while still GS for a future itinerary where you expect to be 1K or lower, the PlusPoints will be wait listing you for PN (as if still GS). However, any PlusPoints that are applied once you drop to 1K will wait list you for PZ even if the points were granted to you while GS. So it matters what status you have when you apply them.

This isn't likely the case for 1K PlusPoints because no matter what your status, you're waiting for PZ space therefore your current status is likely used when deciding upgrade order at time of check-in.

Is it possible to waitlist RN on overwater segment and PN/PZ for domestic First in the same request as they both costs the same?

I guess my question is if it's possible to complete on united.com or it requires a call?

It's possible to complete it online. I've done it before and it costs 20 Plus Points.

Quick question.
When you’re waitlisted with pluspoints… PZ0… 24 hours to departure… #1 on the waitlist
Is there any advantage to checking in online? Or is it ok to wait and check in at the counter?
