To be fair, domestic F is much closer to p.s. PE than p.s. J and that's 20 points as well. F on SFO-LAX is 20 points :)

Has anybody had GPU redemption success for flights after PlusPoints launch date? I've got 2 GPUs applied for SFO-TPE-SFO with good inventory (no PZ) and am wondering if United will hold releasing PZ until after PlusPoints launches?

There's no PZ hold. Available on lots of routes. You're simply running into Xmas and Chinese New Year in late Jan. As of two weeks ago there was PZ into TPE the week before CNY.

Just had my two RPUs expiring 1/2021 again be rinsed and recycled. Twice attempted to use them and twice remained on the upgrade list and #8 and #3 . SAN-ORD-SAN.

Enjoyed my exit row window seat. Excited to try and use them after December 5 when they convert to PlusPoints for a SFO-LHR flight in March from PP to Polaris - fingers crossed!

Does anyone know if I will now be able to use the PlusPoints to upgrade PE on LH? My UA equivalent fare is R so this was not eligible to use a GPU for the upgrade. Does this change with the new system for 2020?

The rules are the same. It depends on what you booked into on LH.

If I apply a GPU now to a domestic flight right after the new system takes effect (Dec 5 for my flight), does anyone know if it will cost me a GPU (essentially 40 points) now or only 20 points on the day of the flight? TIA

I just used 4 RPU's that were expiring on SFO-LAX-SFO for myself and Cricketer Jr. Ridiculous really - but it sounds even worse if I say 80 Plus Points out loud.

I'm going to have 220 Plus Points expiring on 1/31/20. Looks like a Skip-the-Waitlist is in somebody's future - but probably not my own given that all my travel until then is pretty much locked and loaded. Now if only I could StW on an NH P fare...

Premium Economy is a higher class of service vs. Economy. However, not all Premium Economy fare classes can be upgraded when flying on partner airlines, just like not all Economy fare classes can be upgraded.

For travel on LH, if you had a UA O / LH G or UA A / LH E fare, you'd be able to upgrade it for 1 GPU / 40 +Ps.

I'll just add that if you are looking at flying PE on LH, price the ticket on LH's website. I've found E fares less expensive than non-upgradable N fares and with the elimination of PQDs it might make more sense to book directly with LH.

If I upgrade using the 2020 GPUs and confirm it now, will I get 20 points back per GPU on Dec 4th since I used a "40 point" instrument to upgrade a "20 point flight"? I'll only have a couple months to use them but still...
