  • Pre-departure beverage: water or OJ but took requests for mimosas. Mimosas kept flowing all through the flight that I had to decline eventually.
  • Breakfast options:
French toast or Egg and kale pastry with sausage
Fresh fruit
Croissant
Yogurt
  • Pre-arrival snack: mini chocolate lava cake

I haven't seen it on any internal menus, but a friend reported the cheese enchiladas out of EWR last night, so those may indeed be back...

6 PM p.t.s. dinner flight.

I ordered the chicken (mistake) and then asked if I could get the enchiladas and was brought the above dish. Given some of the enchiladas that were served last year, I was prepared for not so good but these were really nice and nicely spiced.

LAX-EWR (02/06/22): Breakfast

PDB bubbles:

As noted from the LAX UC thread, brought along a chunk of croissant egg/cheese/bacon as well as ham snack or two:

Pre-breakfast more bubbly - note that the "glass" was plastic:

Options were the kale egg pastry or pain perdu (french toast). Went with the pastry:

Got some of those IAH grapes and no blueberries (and forgot to bring my own stash due to "time constraints")....croissant was warm. Sausages were weird flavor/texture to me. Asked if there were any other varieties of yogurt besides strawberry but of course no such luck.

Had a post-breakfast juice beverage and confirmed the branding on the glass (which was actual glass):

A shot in the cabin darkness of the end of flight snack - unfortunately a bit less than appealing photo - but it was a great snack prior to landing:

Enchilda was pretty good. They also offered cheese and fruit platter or hummus platter close to the end of the flight

Same breakfast choices on IAH-HNL 2 days ago. Pre-arrival options hamburger or sobu noodle salad. We both had burger, came with same Chobani strawberry yogurt as breakfast, and dessert was pie in the sky chocolate chip

EWR-LAX (02/09/22) Dinner:

PDB: water, OJ, prosecco brut I was corrected (no photos)

pre-meal nuts and adult grape juice:

dining in the sky at night - what some FlyerTalkers seem to miss the allure of:

dinner options: chicken or enchiladas. as noted previously in this thread, I'm still distrustful of enchiladas after their ubiquity and meh-ness from last year. so I went with chicken - TBH, even more meh:

eventually, my Buffalo Trace on the rocks appeared:

at a certain point, gave up on the chicken and, since there were 9 empty J seats, asked if I could have las enchiladas - turns out they were quite good:

pre-arrival snack:

arrival into the Los Angeles basin:

enjoy!

David

p.s. snuck in a snack from the DCA UC:

Newark to San Francisco, I was offered either chicken with brown sauce or the veggie enchiladas. I had the chicken and it was good. Came with asparagus, a salad, a pretzel roll, and some very delicious cheesecake.

At the end of the flight, they offered crackers with a choice of hummus or charcuterie.

Choice of ragu or chicken. You’ve seen it all before. Pie-in-the-sky was warmed. No bread.
