If it's mentioned above, my apologies, but are these still headed to GJ for the -550 program? I know early on in the pandemic, the conversion program was put on hold, but haven't been able to find an update otherwise.

What prompted this query was that the airframe (N552GJ) currently stranded mechanically at MBS is the new delivery UAinAUS mentioned below, with only about a half-dozen revenue flight under its belt. So, to me a good sign that the program has resumed, or are they only finishing what had previously been started?

(Follow-up to my fawning over these above: I just booked my first flights in 19 years from my home airport on something other than a CR2. About had tears in my eyes as I selected 4A in both directions, even paid for F despite an upgrade being all but a lock to show UA my support, however meaningless ).

As of now the Mesa frames will just sit idle. They were supposed to go to GJ, but this remains on hold as the pandemic prevented GJ from being able to make lease payments. The CR5 conversion program has re-started but only for the frames that were already leased. Right now I show only 2 more entering (532 and 548). This is still very much able to be changed.

Parking CR7's and returning CR2's does not sound good for comfort. Do the new scope clauses mean we are going to be seeing fewer UX aircraft with Y+ and F and be crammed into CR2's?

No the CR7's will be replaced by brand new 70-seat E175SC's (5 delivered this week). Regarding 50-seaters, the CR2 numbers are growing right now, balanced out by the removal of a vast majority of the E145 fleet. Over time, CommutAir will add to the E145 fleet, and CR2s will adjust to maintain consistent 50-seat flying.

I feel like all I see here is ERJs being replaced by CR2s which is no doubt quite unfortunate.

Don’t fret too much, it is all planned. Skywest is picking up the slack in flying until CommutAir can ramp up their flying. Details are scarce as of now, but the general theme is that CommutAir will double in size replacing some of the Trans States and ExpressJet flights.

Since CommutAir has likely placed a lower bid than OO, expect to see ERJ-145s in more routes in the future.

In the mean time, CR-2s for everyone!
