Yeah, I manually verified it with the confirmation e-mail messages I got from the bookings, so the UA website is correct.

Booked both final flights on United, and sure I can buy a minimum of 5000 PQM's for $700, but I don't need that many...

Yeah, that's pricier than I thought ...

I need 12,500 PQM to reach Plat, but I'm already at $19,000 PQD. Probably feels like a long shot, but would UA grant any type of courtesy for Plat?

Just starting flying more due to job in August - with a flight each of the next 2 weeks, I'll be at 22 PQS and over the PQD threshold for silver.

However, most of my flights are short (BUF>EWR mostly) - so PQMs are not much (8800-ish), and I don't believe you can do anything for PQS.

Any thoughts on what I can do, or is it really just going to come down to - sucks I started in August, LOL

You could run for 8 segments, but I'm not really sure Silver is worth that.

If you buy an upgrade into F the segments will count as 1.5 instead of 1. The extra cost may not be worth it to you, and a segment oriented mileage run may very well be cheaper, but it is an option without actually flying more to get that extra bump.

Yeah I'm not sure either. Next year I should easily be at Gold, but I guess I'm trying to see if Silver is worth it for those early months of earning

It looks like I could buy 10K on both of the flights for $250each, but I think you'd also need to buy the Premier Accelerator - which only adds $800 per, lol - Silver isn't worth $2,100

Since I'm mainly flying BUF > EWR it's on Embraer 145s, which I don't even think have F class segments.

It's definitely a stretch. Don't count on it.

It all comes down to how much you value the possibility of E+ over E. Given my flying patterns and my size, I might consider it worthwhile. I'm not that big, but I definitely find E to be very uncomfortable. OTOH, if you're mostly flying E145s and you take into consideration the fact that silver status doesn't guarantee you E+ (though I think one would typically get it), you might well decide that it isn't worth it. An eight-segment mileage run isn't that out of the ordinary (for FT), particularly if you can work some PQS bonuses into it.

Thanks I appreciate the info. I'm 6'2 235, so E+ over E is welcome. The E145s are not the greatest for my size at all, and I foresee doing them a lot this coming year (new primary client is in Metro NY) - so it might definitely be worth looking into.

Is there a particular thread or whatnot to look into what an 8 segments mileage run might look like?

You may find Is it worth it making Premier Silver? [2017-2019 Consolidated] useful, there are some alternatives discussed.

Then you'll appreciate hitting gold and being able to secure an exit row seat upon booking.

Good question. There might be something in the mileage run thread (look in the 'Miles&Points' directory). But I'm not personally well versed in mileage running.

The only issue with anything on booking, vs on checking in - is that we need to book via Concur for work - so I'm not certain how a seat selection via Concur would work. Though I can probably just skip the seat selection at Concur booking, and doing it via the App or United.com right away.

We use Concur, too. And it books me in E+, though I'm not really sure how it knows it can do that (it does, of course, have all of my MP info). But I usually just go right back into the reservation once my itinerary has been booked and pick the seat I really want.
