I did UA930 SFO-LHR on the 77W and it was a great flight! Comfortable seats in J with professional cheerful crew who wasn't too cheerful (much appreciated for a red-eye). I am not surprised the 77W is flying LHR-SFO - that's great competition for BA's CW product it's just too bad connections out of LHR into rest of Europe is non existent for Star Alliance

Why? If you want to go elsewhere in Europe you can fly SFO-FRA (and seasonally SFO-MUC and soon SFO-ZRH) and connect. SFO-FRA is getting the 77W.

While the point is well made, there's a *A nonstop LHR-OPO? Or am I missing something.

No nonstop LHR-OPO, although LGW-OPO is flown by *A. LHR is 100% not a *A connecting point in Europe, as they have dozens of other cities with hubs.

Side note: If you are traveling from the US to Porto, TP flies EWR-OPO less than daily year round and UA is beginning a seasonal daily EWR-OPO next summer.

I was using the route map to fill in holes of what I knew and just looked at London and not the airports.

Yes there are other *A hubs (dozens? FRA, ZRH, VIE, MUC, BRU, CPH) but I've 100% connected in LHR to TXL vv several times as well as ARN. Possibly Zagreb next spring as well.

Looks like N2333U is making a run to SJU today from EWR.

And N2138U scheduled to ferry to IAH in the morning, then do a turn to SJU tomorrow.

Glad to see they are getting help to PR

Wow, I guess this is the first time the PEK-SFO flight is moved to a late afternoon (instead of morning/noon) departure? Has it ever happened before?

Probably allows turns with ORD, which it can't do with IAD, which is 788 this winter I believe.

Starts in 2 weeks. I'm on the 31st and stoked it went to 77W. The 6 days a week bit me by having to come home a day early but all in all it was okay, I didn't care to actually spend that much time in Auckland anyways.

Has anyone had success getting a refund or change of routing/carrier (or in this case move to NH, OZ) without change fee when a 77W flight is swapped to 772?
