When I checked options for travel to NRT anytime in September the UA site shows 777-300ER with new seat map. Which info should we rely upon?
UA site may be most accurate, especially if it holds over a few days, however don't be surprised if there is an a/c swap before September.

And what do you think the odds are that UA will allow a routing change if the aircraft changes to the old 777 seating? They won't sell a first class seat on the 777-200 and for that reason I will only book on a 777-300 plane.

There have been reports that res agents allow this if you say you specifically booked to fly Polaris Seats, however you could run into an issue where no flights to your destination have the seats

I am booking this route in early July and my map is the 773 - where are you reading the aircraft is changing, and when is that planned? I am not interested in paying a J fare for the old configuration.

777-300 to LHR

Is there any service from United States to LHR via 777-300?

Thanks

You may occasionally find it on IAH-LHR as they take new deliveries. SFO-LHR is the only regularly-scheduled flight with it, though.

Since the NRT-HNL 772 seems to come from IAD and ORD, I am guessing there is no point hoping this one will be Polaris? Have some family on it in December.

EDIT- looks like I mixed up the thread, but wouldn't mind a 773 on this too

Anything can happen. Tomorrow, my flight ORD-MUC is a reconfigured 772 with the Polaris seats. It was not supposed to be that. Changed yesterday. I keep checking the seat map as I know that if they switch back to the non-reconfigured one, the computer will assign me a middle seat in the group of 4 whereas I used to have an aisle seat before the switch.

This is now getting too OT but my ORD-MUC was switched back to the normal 2-4-2 772. They gave me a window seat and I hate window seats that are not also aisle. Map is full so no changing. I guess I should not complain (too much) as my wife now has no seat.

I loked at my reservation for Thursday EWR-ORD-YVR and the EWR-ORD 772 got swapped from 3 class to one with Polaris seats. Was able to snag an odd numbered window so for 2.5 hours I travel in bliss, then with to a 737-9 which is 4.5 hours! Anyway, hope I didn't steal your Polaris 772.

They do occasionally but don't trust the seat map. I got trolled by it a few months ago.

I hope you do enjoy it. With the switch from the 2-4-2 to the Polaris and back to the 2-4-2, I had a total of 7 seat switchings to get to a decent seat. Usually, no switch or in the worst case, one switch. On day of departure, they must have thought that I was high maintenance. At my request, I was switched seat by the check-in agent, by an agent at the Polaris Lounge, by an agent at the gate and then finally my wife switched her seat for mine.

I would like to try the converted 772. The sad part is that I had managed to take seat 3A and my wife had 3L, which we understood to be very good seats.

Looking at the seat map from that EWR-ORD flight today, it's definitely a 777-300, tail #2786 , 28 upgrades! Anyone know where it's going next?
