Looks like the schedule has officially been updated.

Indeed 837 SFO-NRT goes from 744 to 77W on June 14, and 838 NRT-SFO goes to 77W on June 15.

Enjoy one last time on the UD! At the rate seats are being delivered, you will have the chance to experience Polaris seats over a long period of time

Over the weekend I booked EWR-TLV for June. I've got an assignment in Polaris on the new plane - any risk that the seat issues result in a swap or do they already have enough to launch this route?

I think you should be safe, as they just added one SFONRT to the schedule.
So, they should make sure the earlier announced and scheduled TLV flights stay as
originally planned on the 77W.

I actually take it as a good news if you have a seat on the upper deck. I take it you have not tried the new seat and eager for the experience. You will get that experience for the next 10 years, but upper deck, IMHO, is offering an overall better experience (others feel free to disagree), and that experience will be gone in a few months.

Don't be disappointed for this particular flight.

True, I do. I upgraded my parents too and my dad was saying that he read about it in the news, and how he could now tell his friends he was going to be on the last United 747 flight to Japan.

And you're right, it's not a bad thing, I'm just excited to try the new product.

Is it certain the 777-300 will fly EWR-SFO-EWR by mid August. I am seeing it on some August 10th flights, wouldn't it be flying international by then?

Given delayed delivery schedules, I wouldn't be surprised to see it flying SFO-EWR even beyond then, unless they decide to use it on another route (e.g. SFO-ORD or LAX-EWR, the latter which seems less likely).

Pek-iad polaris biz

Are all the 777 servicing this route refilled with the Polaris suites in business? I'm asking because I chose a window seat and I'm hoping I have easy aisle acess.

The only Polaris planes are running between EWR-SFO and SFO-HKG. They have not reached IAD and dont plan to run between them for quite some time. These will be the 777s with 8 across in J. They will have the Polaris bedding and the food, but not seats.

They have announced the bulk of the 787 fleet will be transitioning to IAD - I am not sure if that flight is too long for a 787 or not, but overall less 757/767/777 at IAD in general coming in the next few years.

787 and 788 will be the last to get actual Polaris hard product if they ever do....

Wouldn't the seat map have shown if it was new Polaris seating?

The 777 I flew on Tuesday from PEK had a loose vent next to my 8K and I almost dropped my eyeglasses in there. So, these 777s are a little rough.

Yes, it would. Quite distinct from the 772 seat maps. From IAD, it won't be a 77W.

Only a few intl routes out of IAD will transition to the 787. A majority of the intl 787 routes will continue to be out of LAX & SFO.
