Just tried to purchase a TPAC itinerary, it made me use the the new website booking platform, made it satisfactorily all the way to "Purchase Now", clicked it, and it just sat there spinning away indefinitely. Eventually went to "My Account", no booking had occurred, also checked credit card, had not been charged either, thankfully. Guess they don't want us to purchase flights!

United.com! Please change back to old version!
I use your website to arrange my travel for long time. Now you changed to a new version and I cannot find flight I want. please please change it back to old version!
|
Most of the site is still the same.
|
The old is all I have seen for the last 2-3 days.
|
It's back to the old version. They keep flip-flopping back and forth. New site, web outage, Smisek steps down, new site, now back to old site.

It is showing the new site for me right now.
The flight search should be giving you the same results on both versions of the web site though. Isn't the new web site just a different front-end with the back-end unchanged? |
What new site? Nothing changed when I log into ual.com

For example, one-way LAX-CDG on Dec 25. The day is shaded in BLUE, but every flight in the results page for FIRST or BUSINESS SAVER says "NOT AVAILABLE"

FWIW, the functionality stripped out of the new site (Ability to force the award calendar to show nonstop saver dates only, ability to view saver awards in it own column, ability to usethe paypal hold) are far more useful than anything they added to the new site. |

I am not sure I like the new way they are displaying it, but on the other hand I don't feel like I am missing anything either... Do you have some more specific use cases where the old way added value? It is odd that they would combine Y, but not C and F. With C and F, is there more variability (Int'l partner F vs. UA metal for example), so it made more sense to keep them as separate columns? The logic escapes me, probably I am missing something. |

What was the benefit of having Saver Y and Standard Y showing in different columns?

On the new site I'd have to manually peck through every single date to see if the availability is on the nonstop flight. That's a massive time suck and I don't see what United gains by making me do that. The mixed column just adds to the confusion, I'd rather be able to take a quick glance and know which flights have saver award space. Though the nonstop calendar issue is much bigger for me. As a blogger though, I know I'll have readers emailing me daily asking when the price for saver awards went up so much...it's just unnecessary confusion. And the paypal loss is huge, though likely intentional. |

I'm one of those who saw different pricing between new and old, and thought I would wait until I was sure my ticket had "stuck" before posting here.
On the new site, I was offered a TATL P fare of $4.2K as compared with a TATL P fare of $3.8K for the identical itinerary on the old site. Of course, I took the cheaper option. My biggest problem with the new site is that the Greasemonkey feature which was so useful for finding upgrade and award availability is now unusable because no actual fare classes are shown any longer — or at least, not on the new site that I have been visiting. Any ideas, anyone? And I too have found that clearing recent history and cache takes me back unerringly to the old site. |
