Welcome to this thread to ask your basic, simple questions about United Airlines, its operations, or the MileagePlus program. We know that the airline is complex and we’ve created this thread for new and veteran members to ask those basic questions about United Airlines that you think must have an easy answer but just can’t find it or aren’t sure where to look.

Where did OP say he was 1K? If he is *G, he would have access, but there is no mention of status in his post.

being on a saver business award will make this more difficult, UA has been poor in open up saver inventory on PS close to departure and (depending on aircraft type used) business saver is tight for PS redeyes. However, would not rate this as impossible and a old fashion standby might be an option if it looks like the waitlist is less than the available space.

The posted hours for the SFO UCs are:
Gate 70 (probabky the closest to your departure gate) until 11Pm
Rotunda Club until 11:30PM
International until 12 midnight

As or EVA or SQ club, even if they were open, you will not get access on a domestic flight. Long standing policy of those lounges.

Agree this is now really difficult. I've had some success SDC'ing business saver on ps, but you have to be absolutely obsessive about checking inventory beginning at T-24 and calling immediately if you see anything.

OPs side profile says he's Aegean Air Gold, so he would have *G

I would tend not to rely on the profile with infrequent posters, especially if it's A3 (which got quite a bit of status match activity several years back). Not a comment on OP at all, just a strong possibility that info is not current.

If I buy Premier Accelerator miles for an upcoming flight, do the PQMs post upon completion of that purchase, or after completion of the flight I purchased the accelerator for?

The former. Even if you cancel the flight, you still get the PQM.

Think I blew it. There were mileage plus reward options a few weeks ago for R/T flights from BWI to Vancouver B.C. in the first part of September for 17 days that put me in first and business class, but now I am not seeing much. Am I using the right search options on the UA website, and would it help to call an agent, or am I just too late?

If you are search the same when you saw it, then you are probably doing the right things and it is probably gone. Never hurts to call, but for an Northern American flight, the agent is unlikely to see space you can not see -- but there search tools are different so they may see something you are overlooking.

Upgrade / award space especially for premium cabin is very volatile, perishable -- it does not go undiscovered for long.

I'm looking to upgrade one of my future flights, and it lists the segment on the Upgrade with Miles tab as:

CUN to ORD | 3 hr 54 mn | Boeing 737-900 | United Business/Meals for Purchase | 9 Seats Available (View Seats)
Are there really configurations of a 739 that would have Business First rather than Domestic First, or is this just a display issue with UA.com?

And why would a First class cabin offer meals for purchase?

As an international flight, the branding of the front cabin (with normal recliner seats) is United Business. It's the same product as domestic F.

The "Meals for Purchase" is a display bug and there will be the usual meal service.

Hi All,

What is the current status when using UA points to redeem on SQ J from Europe to Singapore? I know you cant see the status online but are seats ever available?

How can I check status?

How strict is united on the 64 inch for check baggage. I am coming back from comic con and one of my boxes is 65.25 inches. I am 1k and the first part of the trip is in business first upgraded on a gpu still on wait list for the p.s. Flight.

Thanks Nimitz

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...ec-2013-a.html covers that situation.

Generally this is an agent dependent issue. Agent do not measure unless they think there is an issue. You will likely be OK but there is the possibility.
