UA 903 today, SFO-FRA 744, took off, had a bit of fun over Northern California (1:44, presumably fuel dumping over the ocean), came back to SFO. Took off again, now due to arrive FRA 6 hours late.

Anyone know why they diverted?

Gotta figure mechanical since they only made it to 20,000 feet before heading over the ocean, circling a bit, and then landing. I would assume a medical or other emergency would result in less circling and a quicker return.

Deja vu all over again! The second SFO-FRA flight of the day, UA926, was 3 hours late in departing. No listed reason, presumably mx.

UA116 HKG-EWR 9/4/15 Delayed 75 minutes. DOT restrictions on crew rest cited as reason for delay.

yup

UA862 HKG-SFO 744 cancelled due to aircraft maintenance

also

UA107 MUC-EWR 764 cancelled due to aircraft maintenance
UA122 IAD-LHR 752 cancelled due to aircraft maintenance (for the past week - 4 times severely delayed ... 1 cancellation ... good riddance UA)

therefore also tomorrow

UA123 LHR-IAD 752 cancelled due to aircraft maintenance

9/7 UA 7 IAH-NRT (N57106) departed at 1555, 5 hours 5 minutes late and estimated to arrive at 1909 due to aircraft maintenance.

9/8 UA 6 NRT-IAH estimated departure 2015, 3 hours 40 minutes late due to late inbound.

9/7 UA 837 SFO-NRT (N181UA) estimated departure at 1430, 3 hours 5 minutes late and estimated to arrive at 1652 due to aircraft maintenance. I am guessing there will be a delay either on UA 882 NRT-ORD or UA 838 NRT-SFO due to late inbound on 9/8.

Looks like they cancelled the regular scheduled one UA 862 and the extra sector is still a go. They will use N119UA which arrived Monday night.

9/8 UA 862 HKG-SFO (N107UA) cancelled due to aircraft maintenance.

Not showing an extra 744 sector on 9/9. There is a 777 that is coming out of maintenance that is scheduled though.

UA 2069 HKG-SFO (N227UA) 1230 - 946. Wonder if they can get passengers out on that if they can't get N107UA out on Wednesday.

9/8 UA 838 NRT-SFO (N181UA) cancelled due to aircraft maintenance/curfew.

UA 837 SFO-NRT has had a rolling mechanical delay / recrew delay since this afternoon. Now estimated departure is showing 2015.

9/8 UA2066 (the make-up for 9/7 UA862) HKG-SFO is operated by N119UA. Looks like UA used the aircraft for 9/8 UA862 as UA2066, and cancelled 862 again. Two days in a row!

Finally up about 8 hours late, due to arrive about 10:30pm NRT time. I assume a new crew was found as the original HAD to have timed out, right?
