The soup was really good haha! Also, having had the BF main courses a lot of times, I can report that the dish I had was very similar to that offered in BF (though enhanced). It's all about the seat and privacy imho anyway!

Even at this reduced fare, it was a complete splurge for me...

SFO-JFK $359 on a cheap 'L' fare offered to me as a 1K. There were 6 seats left, was waitlisted with an RPU. Did not take it - switched to another flight that had availability and cleared.

But ultimately all 6 seats sold out by the following morning, no upgrades cleared (there were about 15 on the list).

We can thank JetBlue Mint for these popping up on the SFO-JFK runs now like they have on LAX-JFK. $599 one way advance purchase fares = low price for the upfare at checkin.

DEN-MSP
Q Fare
$185 - Declined

I'm flying DEN-MSP on an E-170 tomorrow on a Q fare. This flight has been showing 1/6 in F for 4 days and that person was CPU'd. Since OLCI, there are now 3 seats filled, no additional CPUs and I'm sitting at #1. We shall see.

I paid $516 for my ticket, was offered $185 each way to UG at OLCI. 'A' fare R/T, same fights is $845 today.

That is not an upfare. It's a purchased upgrade that is not tied to your underlying fare basis. The cheapest BF fare on that route is still over $1000 each way.

Booked W on IAD-BKK, flying via NRT with the dreaded ANA segments (as .bomb makes anything else ridiculously expensive, including TG segments or alternate connecting points on the same ticket). About $1800 r/t.

Offered at booking: Upfare the return, including the ANA segment and 787 NRT-LAX, to C, for $1900. Almost bit--if I didn't have 2x GPUs to use in January, I would have. (I was also concerned the ANA segment wouldn't work correctly and it would really have been a waste given NRT-LAX should clear on my GPU.)

After booking: Offered $6600 to upfare the return to C.

Pretty big discrepancy!

RDU-SXM R/T, this popped up after purchase.

Paid $449, outbound in T, inbound in G. Upgrade offers looked like this:

- RDU-EWR: $109
- EWR-SXM: $249
- SXM-IAD: $649
- IAD-RDU: $459

I was momentarily tempted by EWR-SXM but the rest are seriously absurd. Especially IAD-RDU which is basically $10 a minute in the air.

IAD-DXB and DXB-IAD
W fare to C class in December
$2100 each way, declined. Waitlisted GPUs both ways, but I am thinking (hoping?) that they will likely clear.

Hmm, was that Y>C or C>F, or even a double jump?

AMS - IAD

Not too bad - lately all I've been getting at checkin in is $4,999 from APAC and slightly lower four digits from EMEA....

Were you booked in a fare class that was not eligable for GPU (P or Z)? Just curious....

$829 would have had me itching to tap the button on my phone app. .... that is right on the borderline for me. The privacy of GF is quite nice, as you likely already know.

I'm still thinking about it - but I'm in an aisle seat in BF in the center section of the 2-2-2 on the 767 - so it's a tough call.... On my way over (from ORD to FRA) I had my first GPU failure to GF from a D fare - three seats were open at booking, 2 on day of departure and then none a few hours before departure. I was wait listed for 2 weeks as well in advance and never cleared....

Y>C.

The sad thing is SQ has 2 for 1 biz RT fare between HKGSIN for about $2200!
