Yesterday:

FLL-EWR
Warm Nuts
Shrimp Salad or "Chicken Enchilada"
Tomato/Basil Soup
Cranberry/White Chocolate cookies

The tomato soup was fantastic, as always.

EWR-SEA
Warm Nuts
Grilled Chicken with Gnocchi or Spinach Cannelloni
Salad in a newer, flatter plate
Sundaes
Many passes of the snack basket

I brought my own food for the EWR-SEA flight, but I don't actually mind that version of the chicken.

I'm not exactly heartbroken about the loss of the fruit on the shorter flights. It was often mediocre. And I never ate the shrimp or salmon on the transcons, so that doesn't bug me quite so much.

The split cashews? I can't say that I care that much.

UA 314 p.s. JFK-LAX 8:25pm

Took orders front to back asking for 1st & 2nd choice

Came by 3/4 into the flight with snack basket that was cookies, Toblerone, Cape Cod chips and fruit.

Wish we could see menu in advance as with continental
I could then plan on eating on board or if the miserable meals I've recently had, buy something before

The upside is the menus change so little, you have a very good idea of exactly what you will be offered!

About the only thing that seems to change is what they call the chicken hot pocket? It was described as a chicken-mozzerella sandwich on my PDX-ORD flight on Sunday; its called the Chicken Bouquet on international flights!

The small seafood appetizers have been removed from non-p.s. transcon lunch and dinner flights ... can confirm from IAD-SAN and SFO-IAD experiences this past weekend.

ORD-MCO

Anybody know what I should expect for lunch this month on this route?

I wish UA would post menus for first class on its website; would help me plan since I can't skip meals.

What's the point? It's not like anything is good.
Just buy something at ORD before you board.

Chicken calzone or beef burrito (as appetizing as they sound)
Salad w/shrimp or chicken

I suggest pre-dining, especially at Tortas Frontera

Mmmmmm, ORD is all about Tortas Frontera. I no longer dread getting stuck there.

Had the same meal SFO-IAD on the 14th. Chicken was good, but the rice was overcooked and cold, and the beans were just blah. Ice cream for dessert, and the same limp garden salad.

2/20/14 LAX-EWR

The "cajun chicken" was pretty good, I was impressed. Other entree options were the beef or the cheese pasta with squash veg.

^i sacrifice PQMs to route via ORD just for the shrimp torta. love how they use 'discrete' packaging for to-go orders so it's easy to bring into a UC and eat.

I love Tortas Frontera as well.

But, I don't think we should be sneaking food into the UC!
