This explains it nicely, for hospitalisation but the demonstration is the same for cases and deaths, just change the Numbers accordingly.

Remember that schools have gone back in Scotland. This might be a sign of what we'll see in England in a few weeks.

Still no changes for double vaccinated travellers coming from Green countries… no changes for places like SA or Turkey…

In fact, there are only a few S.American countries remaining on the list. Designated countries Africa None Asia None Europe None South America Argentina Bolivia Brazil Chile Colombia Ecuador* Peru North America None Oceania None |

Sometimes if you want to fix something you had to fix it yourself. But things cannot always be fixed.......

Couldn't put it better myself. Everyone in the UK that wants the vaccine has been able to get it now.

true for those 18+. Plenty under 18s waiting to be called and virtually all under 18s aren’t able to get their second vaccines.

A first for me this morning, got a ping off the NHS app for the first time. Checked the exposure notifications and I have just one match. I thought you needed several to get pinged.
Double jabbed so the app has just reset itself, but ordered a PCR anyway. |

Kudos to you for doing the right thing. In its current form the NHS Covid App is your friend, not a nuisance. Someone you've been near to in recent days has turned positive, and it would be good to get a PCR yourself to be sure. Maybe a LFT if you have one handy.

Albeit virtually all those under 18s even if they do get it are highly likely to suffer very mild symptoms if any. They are the least at risk group and only being vaccinated to try and stop spread to others, not really for their own protection.
There are reports that the young are disproportionately susceptible to long-term progression of the disease, even where initial symptoms of are mild. https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/sto...ns-long-covid/ So maybe it is unfair to suggest that the programme is aimed squarely on wider epidemiological and societal benefits, rather than prophylactic consideration of both the short-term and longer-term benefits of young people. |

Cases 26,476 (31,914 last Monday) Deaths 48 (40) People vaccinated up to and including 29 August 2021: First dose: 48,024,928 Second dose: 42,718,652 The rolling seven day daily average for cases is now up 1.8% on the previous week and the same measure for deaths is up 14.8%. The rolling 7 day daily average for deaths is 115.0 today. The Welsh are busy climbing Snowdon today or whatever they do when they are not working out COVID stats, so the figures do not include anything from them today. We may have a less good figure tomorrow because of the holiday today. The weekly total for deaths has been rising for some time. It moves above 800 to 805 for the first time in months today. |
