If you are moving to the States in a month, find out what’s happening on the ground in your new home: here in Northern California they have huge capacity - all the local mass vaccination centers and most pharmacies have excess supplies of all three vaccines and are open to (and begging for) everybody. You could consider simply getting vaccinated in the US - it would make getting a vaccine passport simpler.

I would hope that countries are open minded in this, otherwise countries like USA and Israel may never open to people in the UK who’ve had AZ.

I don't think that approval will condition that. The concerns aren't over efficacy, but over safety with clots, so I don't think that it will be a problem. I'm not a politician in said countries but it would defy logic...

The issue will be that some vaccines (eg at least one of the Chinese ones) are fairly ineffective so, logically, the rules should exclude them.

Perhaps somewhat historical, but the BBC is reporting that a cross-party parliamentary committee is recommending that all fixed penalty lockdown fines be reviewed.

More than 85,000 fixed penalty notices have been issued in England since the pandemic began, and 8,000 in Wales.

A government spokesperson said it was right there were consequences for those who most flagrantly breached the rules.

The JCHR, which is made up of MPs and peers, said it had "significant concerns" about the validity of fines, the inadequacy of the review and appeal process, the size of the penalties and the criminalisation of those who could not afford to pay.

Do we have any update on May supplies / novovax coming online / Moderna / J&J coming online / etc? Not heard anything about any of this in a while, which seems odd.

My partner has his vaccine appt very last thing today, so hopefully supply won't be an issue and he will get it as planned We will try to turn up a bit early for the appt to avoid any issues.

Yeh I'm keen to know this as well. I heard somewhere that the authorities are going to make a call this week on whether under 40's will be recommended pfizer/moderna - is this correct?

yeah because right now if im offered a j&j vaccine instead of a AZ/moderna/Pfizer one may be the difference between paying 80 gbp for a negative test to travel each time or just having a certificate of the jab for free

any way of rescheduling a second jab (booked on NHS site) or at least checking availability without cancelling the original booking

Might interest folk on here. Greece will recognize NHS vaccine cards to exempt UK tourists from quarantine or tests.

Also from friends in Scotland, apparently they do not get given vaccine cards? It is only England where you are given this. If so how will people in Scotland prove it?

I think they've taken this statement back due to forgery concerns.

Really? I am surprised by this as no other way for UK arrivals to prove they have been vaccinated. Thought Greece was making intentionally lax to aid tourism.

Malta and Cyprus plan to open to vaccinated Brits with no test/quarantine from 1st June and 1st May respectively. Wonder if they will take NHS cards.

FWIW Iceland is accepting CDC cards from US which I assume also are as easy to buy/forge. That said my CDC card actually has a J&J sticker on it with batch number etc so less likely to have been forged.

Yeh apparently straight after he said it, or a couple of hours later, they said nah because of forgery concerns. I myself was planning on going to Greece soon, but it seems like it won't be green anyway with cases quite high there and what seems to be confusion about what the rules will be.

Find someone eligible who hasn’t yet booked their second jab online. Anecdotally, I can tell you that when we had our second jabs at a GP led clinic, we immediately went online to cancel our booked appointments, out of curiosity we looked to rebook, I had plenty of choice being eligible (11 week gap) sooner than OH, who couldn’t find a new appointment at all. Even the appointment he had just cancelled had disappeared. So the message is only cancel if you absolutely can’t make it.
