It's official people, UEFA plutocrats can skip the quarantine courtesy of HMG.

So you're all for travelling being open but not if it's for somebody else instead of you? Sad really, but you're not alone on here.

I think if you read all of 13901’s posts, along with those of many other members, actually they’re in favour of travelling being open to everyone. It’s not at all inconsistent to draw attention to this latest move, given all other exemptions have either disappeared or been considerably watered down in scope.

There is something of a disconnect between HMG’s actions over the past few weeks, and this decision, is there not?

Thanks NWIFlyer. I'd go beyond this and say that what I'd like is clarity and consistency. If HMG, in its wisdom, decides that travel is bad and shouldn't be allowed until the XX/XX/202X, I'd be fine-ish with it.
What I'm not happy with is this whole RAG system based on obscure logic and moving goalposts, obvious debacles like India and, last but not least, ad-personam treatments like Gove getting out of a self-isolation through a trial that "appeared" and "happened" to involve him or, as we're now seeing, UEFA.

Daily data:

Cases 16,135 (9,055 last Wednesday)
Deaths 19 (9)
Patients admitted 211 (173 on the 12th)
Patients in hospital 1,508 (1,177 on the 14th)
Patients in ventilation beds 250 (206 on the 15th)
People vaccinated up to and including 22 June 2021:
First dose: 43,448,680
Second dose: 31,740,115

The rolling seven day daily average for cases is now up 43.9% on the previous week and the same measure for deaths is up 53.0%. The rolling 7 day daily average for deaths is 14.4 today. A good day for jabs with 299,837 people vaccinated yesterday (trying to find positive data).

Data may be delayed tomorrow as I should be in the air at this time.

Hi,

Another 2,967 cases in scotland alone reported today with an increase of around 800 over yesterday. The fm said this is partly due to a record number of tests carried out.

That was a huge daily jump in new cases. Not good news.

Partly due to surge testing in Scotland.

I believe there's surge testing going on in South London too, but I don't know how much.

The highest daily number reported throughout the pandemic. Time to go on the amber list? If the boot was on the other foot...

Everyone except these UEFA freeloaders, unless I can do it to? I don't disagree with the sentiment but it's getting hypocritical if not political OMNI territory to cry about it like this.

Arent the large jab figures today just making up for the tiny numbers yesterday?

Good to see more drop in options for younger folks.

Yes, it could do with a bit more explanation. The overall total reported for yesterday was 550,712
and the 299,000 figure was the first dose figure for both days. They are still good numbers and take the cumulative total to 75,188,795.
