1. They have obviously been slammed by this, so it is understandable that this is taking time.
2. As has been referred to multiple times, a special department is taking care of this, so the veracity of what a regular phone agent did or did not tell you is immaterial (Afterall you asked him POINT BLANK!) 3. Quite frankly I hope that they do not comp DL Golds as Elite on TK. Gold until about 30 seconds ago on DL was not and is not anything special, it is the second out of 4 tiers and should not be in the same category. |

Crimson, sorry to say it but it is posts and acts the way you describe them that ruin it for everyone. OF the last ten big status matches that were known via FT, probably TWO ever had anything "written" about them and even then with pretty strict conditions. These things are generally NOT written, can end at any time and are totally at the will of the airline which is giving them. Truly great FF'ers have been able to be comped status at anytime by asking for it in the right way and, but that takes a hell of a lot more flying than being Gold on DL.
What, are you going to criticize TK for not having a written policy anywhere> Are you going to bother them to death, especially with a status that barely qualifies?? Seriously, are you going to throw all your business to TK and * alliance? Because if not I do not understand how you could even start to keep up GOLD on Delta and Gold on Turkish??!! |

Submitted my request for a match from AA EXP to TK Gold on June 1. Got the confirmation of receipt email on June 6. No change in status as of today, June 15. :(

Hmrph. I was given *G a while back but haven't received the card. I'm flying *A in international Y in less than 2 weeks and could really use the card (especially since I want to bank the miles to UA and not A3/TK).
Called TK again and was told I need to have activity in the account to get the card :td: ... pleaded with the rep but don't know if that worked. |
So you want the card in order to get into the lounge, you have no intention of even crediting miles to your account, so in effect will be nothing more than getting a comp in order to use facilties which are really for TK card holders, or at least those that are crediting to TK. So after 2 years you will lose your status, never have it again and you want them to send you a card even sooner so that you can do it? That is NOT the spirit of what the comp is about and they should NOT send you a card.

I too got the 'forwarded to the relevant department' e-mail, and it would be annoying to have to have to credit a flight to TK to get the card. Any way to earn miles through a partner (some shopping portal or something maybe) that would qualify? I do have a short trip coming up soon which I intended to take on DL but I suppose I could take US/US and credit to TK... |
