Kit arrived yesterday in Canada. Requested May 30. Approved June 1. Received June 25.

I noted it says access to Domestic and International CIP lounges and ability to bring in guests for 50TL. Does this mean even if I am not flying Turkish I can enter the lounge?

I am AA PLT (50,000+) and sent an email on Sat. Received a reply today saying that unfortunately they cannot match my status because they only match "*A Gold, Skyteam Elite + and Oneworld Emeralds".

So they are willing to match status from other members within *A alliance who are gold but as far as the other two alliances they only want the top elite members from the next threshold. Does that make sense?

No, not a lot of sense, but then I don't think much of any of this process has made a whole lot of sense (not that I'm complaining)

does AA play qualify you for oneworld emerald?

AA Plat is considered Oneworld Sapphire (middle tier). AA EXP members who fly 100,000+ miles per year are Oneworld Emerald.

So if I somehow can get a *A carrier to match me to gold, then I can re-try again and hopefully get matched to Miles&Smiles. Why my obsession to get matched to TK? because it is the easiest program to retain Gold status of all *A carriers. A3 would be ideal but they usually don't match from other alliances. I might give it a try though.

Happy to say my status updated to "Elite"/Star Gold today.

- Sent request on May 29th
- Got an email acknowledgement on June 12th
- Status upgrade came through June 26th

No email from them yet of the upgrade, but thanks to Awardwallet, i spotted the upgrade!

Happy to report that me and my family were matched yesterday to Star Alliance Gold thru 06/30/2014. Sent email with request to TK on 06/19, received match confirmation via email on 06/26. Me and my family are SkyTeam Elite Plus (KLM Flying Blue-- Gold) members and received the match after providing mileage statements and copies of our cards.

Got this email 2 biz days after my status match:

Dear xxx

Referring to your e-mail message dated June 18, 2012,

Elite card status match has been provided and your membership has been updated as '' Elite Card '' level.
We would like to be honoured to see you as an Elite member for your future flights by Turkish Airlines.

Just received my Elite status match. I originally request it on 5/25 and then sent a reminder email on 6/25. I checked today and now have Elite gold status.

Not sure how long it will take the physical card to get here.

One more upgrade processed.

Not true, luckily Flying Blue Gold is quite easy to retain, so i'll requalify this one too :)

Add me to new Elite Gold thru 6/2014. :D No email from them but checked status online and it was updated today. Request was sent in June 6.

no email but status upgraded (sent in Jun 14)

No e-mail about the upgrade, was going to send another one.. But logon today and noticed the status changed... Thx TK & OP.

So now I can ditch Aeroplan cuz it is useless if I have to pay double for tango plus fare to play aerolotto.
